We have had a long and interesting post about bikes we would have liked to have owned, many of which were not as good as we would have thought and many which were much better. How about one which lists the bikes you never wanted to go near. To get the juices flowing and stimulate the discussion here is one of mine. Probably a bit controversial to start off, but for me it is just plain ugly I'll get me coat
The only one I wish I'd never owned was the BMW R1100RT which I had before the Duke, for a tourer it was the most uncomfortable bike ( for me) that I've ever ridden! I tried all the seating positions and none were anywhere near comfortable, thighs ached, back was in agony, arms weren't at a comfortable height and it was too bloody heavy!
I like the bike btw but styling wise it always reminds me of this... Which funnily enough is also the only bike I regret owning, although mine was a 400
Well, one is an obnoxious jelly mould, and the other looks cooler than a very cool thing. There is, it is true, a school that has never abided a fully enclosing fairing. This school hated the Paso and failed to see the loveliness which is the DB1. I am definitely not of that school. But there are right ways of doing it and wrong ones. Trust the Italians to do it right.
I had a mk2 Bandit GSF600S that I ran as my winter hack for a year... Didn't like that too much as the fairing buzzed like a bugger at 5k rpm and no matter what I did I couldn't stop it... Cant say that I *regretted* owning it but it wasnt the best bike I've had.
Had a 400 superdream years ago, absolute shite, worst thing is i swapped an RD 400 for it, yes i know!!! still think the Paso is a dead end street as far as Ducati go though.
Hmmmm, I wish I had never owned a '94 Grey import Yamaha YZF750 SP with 1000 exup lump and 6 speed box, o yeah with 6 pot sumitomo's, the worst brakes - ever. Nealy killed me on the Yorkshire moors, more than once! (If only Blue spots were available back then!) 'KX500 Super-moto two stroke, spent 6 months building it, rode twice, nearly flipped it big time an it rattled fillings out. Sold after 2 weeks!
what about cars? not mine by the way,but i just coudnt pass it without taking pics........fear the deere>
