  1. hi chaps does anyone if you can get a longer range fuel tank for the 1198?? cheers

  2. How deep is your pocket ? If I remember correctly, Fullsix do a very nice carbon one but it costs fousands :). Andy

  3. cheers andy il have a look

  4. R U going on a long trip where there's no fuel stations?

  5. could be mate, just a pain in the arse limited to 60-70 miles and having to stop for fuel again.
ive sent fullsix an email see how much they want to rob me for a carbon tank.

  6. found a price of fullsix carbon tank £2069, :Arghh:

  7. well done, good find that:upyeah:

  8. I love these "genuine" clients that write something at the bottom of the web page like:
"Thanks again, I love the tank. It made a noticeable difference in weight."
If the tank is bigger then fill it with fuel and it will weigh more. If he leaves it nearly empty then can he really notice the 2.5 kgs (3 lts of fuel) saving in weight? That would be about 1% of the bike and rider weight, I wonder how much better the acceleration will be.

  9. I got a ETI fuel-cel tank for my 1098 and it was easily the best thing I did to the bike. 100 miles was easily doable. Had a few close calls with the reserve coming on at 65 miles and being no where near a fuel station.

  10. nelly what sort of money was it mate? had a look on there web site and no prices.

  11. I got 85 miles from mine ... Not to bad I thought ... Would only get 100 from my aprilia and that was an 18 litre tank

  12. It was a few years back now tbh. £800 rings a bell... They're really quite helpful, so I'd drop them a mail. If the exchange rates are good then it's a bonus. You do need to factor in painting though as they are supplied in primer only.
It wasn't exactly what you call cheap, but it really did change my experience of riding the bike. I was getting ready to get rid as the range was dictating my rideouts and planning fuel stops was more important than enjoying myself.
When I got rid of the bike, I sold the tank on and recouped a chunk of the investment.

  13. Isn't the 848 SE Corse tank a little larger?

  14. The 848 Evo corse tank is 18ltr yes, the standard 848 Evo has a plastic tank and is 15l

  16. I bought a 22ltr tank as part of the secondhand race bodywork I bought on ebay four years ago.
Its a kevlar tank which is usually £1500 before painting it.
What a difference it makes, 110 miles before the fuel light comes on.
It was supplied new from JHP Ducati in Coventry
