2004 Ducati 749r

Discussion in 'Ducati Bikes For Sale' started by Chris.King1, Sep 12, 2015.

  1. For Sale is my 2004 749R. Currently 11500 mileage. 2 keys, plus red key. FSH. It does not have entirely standard spec, namely the Carbon front single projector and rear tail unit. Upgraded only utilising quality parts from leading manufacturer companies. No Chinese junk or make do approach.

I am open to offers, I accept a lot of people would want a totally standard version, but as stated this has had a lot of time and money put into her, therefore I ask offers to be PM as I am looking for the middle ground price of non standard, but I have spent a fortune on improving her.

No modifications to the actual engine as not needed on an R version. I used to own an S version and this bike is a different kettle of fish altogether, it is basically a road going race bike thoroughbred. Along with the entire standard spec of the 2004 R models such as Carbon Fairings, Hugger, Fender, Belt Covers, Ohlins, Marchensi, Termignoni, Slipper Clutch, uprated internals, etc. Any parts replaced are upgrade parts; I do not have any standard parts. All electrics housed under the race brace and coiled in the nose cone. Please note that the bike is much lighter due to getting rid of the headlight unit and twin headlights and the stock tail&seat unit. A lot of bike.

Belts recently done using OEM Ducati Gates Belts. The bike has done very little mileage year to year as you will see from the MOT certs. Due to the little year to year usage the service light has not even come on, but from its last service (all carried out at GTEC Performance) New Oil and K&N filter every year, brake/clutch fluids, set of brake pads, fuel line flushing, cleaning out of dry clutch regular, New Battery along with a secondary earth cable

The sale also will include 2 Brand New Boxed EBC Ultra lightweight X Series Floating front discs (part No. MD622XC), along with Titanium Front Rotor Bolts. Also rear Galfer Wavy Disc, boxed, along with associated bolts and the recommended Regina Upgrade Chain Kit of 39t rear sprocket/14t front sprocket and Gold Regina Chain….all brand new and still in the box. Also includes new Titanium sprocket nuts.

Also, I have a set of front/rear Maxxis tyre, never fitted which is included.

Bike has always passed its MOT with no advisories, ever. As you can appreciate these type of bikes are well looked after. The condition of the bike is very good for 11 years old.

  12. thanks for that

  13. Yep that's my bike! I was after a Benelli 1130 but after being messed around by dealers as there was only two country, they were sold. So this thread can be closed. I was prepared to let her go for cheap to secure the deal on other bike for a rapid sale, but the dealer let me down...long story.

  14. The bike was and still is a minter...I bought if from the guy that now has the MV Augusta place at Rackheath and he got it from Carl Harrison, so I paid over the odds I guess at the time, swopped it for RC8R. Only done 11,500 miles to date. Small world!

  15. My mistake.
I sold it to James Horton who worked at CH. Yes he now sell MV's

It was a great bike. I paid 5600 for it from an ocd copper who used to be a jet plane engineer.

Keep the bike Chris. You wont find many better!
