996 Fairings Which Are Best?

  1. Hi guys as some may know I just bought a lovely 996 of Tim cooksters mate. I'm on the look out for some road fairings I'm not putting headlights in just want daytime mot. As we all know track fairings are very flimsy and don't always fit that well. I had a 748 and the belly pan was in 2 halfs. I've found out there's another version where the belly pan is a 1 piece. Are these panels all interchangeable with each other? Any opinions on which are the better?

  2. hi simon ive got a complete set of fairings, yes they are track fairings but have the side stand cut out and are very strong , have a complete belly pan which is one peice and stainless suz fastners as well. let me know if your interested bud.

  3. I. Have some from superbikebodywork.Co.uk on my 748, had to drill holes for mirrors which I cocked up so looks awful when I take them off, covered by mirrors though luckily. Other than that they fit spot on and look great. I thought they seemed too cheap to be quality but I'm happy. Been on a couple years and still look good.
I'll post pic when Im home if you like

  4. How much did they cost joe? Nelson put me onto a company in Swansea they do a fairing set for £279 coloured with number boards. They are as thick as oem.

  5. How much you looking at for them and how thick are they cookster

  6. Just realised joe yours are the same company nelson put me onto they come with mesh in the vents and everything

  7. £200 mate between 2-4mm thick, definatley thicker than tims were and far better condition. or for £350 you can have the all the fairings, fastners and the fuel tank as they were all painted together. cheers.

  8. What's the paint like on them do you have any pics?

  9. I want to make Tims old bike mint.

  10. there very good condition but not mint bud, look at my thread 748/853 sps track bike plenty of pictures there mate. if you need any other 748/996 bits ive got loads if you want a mint bike i got some nice parts for sale.:upyeah:

  11. How do I find that? Thing is if they need painting to be mint it's cheaper to buy the new ones. Does yours come with tail unit?

  12. just look in builds and projects 748/853 sps, yes mine has a seat unit, nose cone, both side fairings and belly pan and tank if you want it.[IMG]

  13. ah found a picture

  14. Just to give you a bit more information. The ones I mentioned don't have any heat proofing like the oem ones do but don't seem to suffer any for it. Just I remember being concerned when they arrived but like I said they seem built to last. Also for the £279 that doesn't include seat

  15. Looks stunning only thing is I'm after red. I just bought a black and white set to go with the black tank I bought from Tim

  16. you can always paint them mate and i have a seperate red tank.
