Bloody hell!!! MotoGP Malaysia: Rossi accuses Marquez of helping Lorenzo | MotoGP 0 "Valentino Rossi has accused Marc Marquez of helping Jorge Lorenzo during last Sunday's Australian MotoGP. Rossi starts this weekend's penultimate Sepang round with a reduced 11-point title lead over his Yamaha team-mate after Phillip Island. Although Marquez overtook Lorenzo to take victory on the final lap in Australia, Rossi - who finished a close fourth - indicated that the Honda rider had been trying to assist Lorenzo earlier in the race. “If we have another race like Phillip Island we have to speak with Marquez because during the race it was more difficult to understand, but after when I saw the race later it was very clear that he played with us very much," Rossi said on Thursday. “Because mainly I think that his target is not just to win the race, but also help Lorenzo to go far and try to take more points on me. So I think that from Phillip island it is very clear that Jorge has a new supporter! That is Marc. And “This changes a lot because for sure Marc has the potential to go away alone [at the front] and maybe for sure can be another type of race.” Both Marquez and Lorenzo denied Rossi's accusation, although Iannone agreed that Marquez had been "playing with them" in the race."

I'm sure the Marquez helping JLo comments where probably meant in Vale's typical tongue in cheek joke way.
I dunno, I thought he was warning MM to just stay out of the way of the championship battle and to not risk effin things up for VR and JL. Kinda like - go ahead or get out of the way just don't piss around with us just because you can't win it yourself. Maybe? IDK!
nearly 20 years of racing and his worst place was 9th on his debut year!!!!!! figures speak for themselves ....not remotely comparable to Lorenzo or even Stoner.....
This is exactly why I don't get the Rossi thing. He's a smiling assassin. This smacks of Alex Fergusson type mind games, but I'm happy to see it as it means he's getting a little desperate. If Marquez wanted to help Lorenzo, why did he overtake him at the last passing point on the last lap.
I'm still going with a joke that's been sensationalised my the media. Not that they often do that [emoji6] I could just see Rossi smiling whilst saying it all. Giving MM a cheeky wink too.
Just watched it. They all seemed to be in on the joke. Not sure about Ionnone as could not understand wtf he was saying!
From crash.net: So why did Rossi choose to bring Marquez into the battle? Perhaps, already suspicious that Marquez harbours a grudge from their earlier clashes and aware of the huge role the #93 could play in the title outcome, Rossi wanted to put the spotlight on the Spaniard. After today's words, Rossi knows that Marquez's every move will be closely examined for anything that could be interpreted as favouring Lorenzo in the last two rounds.
I think if anything, Marquez is likely to favour Rossi with a bit of Spanish rivalry going on between him and Lorenzo. I would imagine being top Spaniard counts for a lot in their heads. Marquez could be seen signalling to Rossi and Ianonne not to trip each other up in the Australia race to catch Lorenzo, he also overtook Lorenzo at the death, putting in the race's fastest lap. If Rossi had been leading with Lorenzo 4th, I think you could label those actions of Marques as favouritism towards Lorenzo, but it looks to be the other way round from the outside.
Marquez, Rossi, JLo & Kent are all laughing as he's speaking. In MM's position, if I knew I had the pace to clear off into the distance, championship is out of question so why not hang back for a bit of fun. He probably did play them all.
Couldn't agree more ......The you should let me win because I'm Rossi guilt trip, what a load of bull moaning twat
I'll probably end up mowing the lawn on Sunday after watching the race. I wish I could do it like Jorge
