I still worry about the pani tho due to its lack of frame and how many in racing incidents have been utterly destroyed
Know what you mean. I was on the phone for a good half hour chatting to my pal about the offs they had. Pretty much an off per round, be it practise, qually or the race. The only damage caused was levers, bars, footages and fairings. I'll take the risk. Everything will be reet
Seen a few destroyed non ducatis too, guess it is all down to luck at the end of the day. Won't stop me tracking mine now, at least for next year. Think the biggest concern I have is other riders, ran inters for the last few days at the end of the year....less random but some pull some real shit tricks at times.
That's why I'll be only doing Euro days from now on. Not as many ding bats thinking that are Rossi lol
Is there something peculiar to the 1199 then that makes them vulnerable to flipping over? I've just bought one for the track, hence the question. It's just that I've crashed on track on a range of bikes, all with R&G engine crash bungs and none have flipped, but all have benefited from having the engine crash bungs being fitted. I'm convinced that on each occasion e.g 3 low sides I can think of, the engine damage would have been significant without them. That said, I'm not sure I see them on BSB bikes for example, so not sure if I have been lucky in bikes not flipping? Have you experienced a bike flipping via engine crash bungs as opposed to the rearset footpeg or handle bar digging in?
Sorry to see a bike in that state, I hope you are ok. What happened....apart from the obvious ? I see that the front shock mounting bolt has broken....was that the cause or a result of the crash?
Yer fine thanks guys happened over a year ago now...dislocated hip and broken foot fairly painful! Cost me about 8k to rebuild which hurt even more...was better than new once I'd finished though.
R&G type crash bungs? I always fit them under the fairing.... helps protect, but stops them digging into the gravel??
Just a standard Highside at 100mph in my case... Story was...Fitted a full termi system, didn't get 'ENGINE' light reset by dealer, assumed all electronics where working as TC light was flicking on/off as normal...huge rear slide at 100mph launched me 20ft in the air and 100m across the track! Ouch! No crash bungs caused it to flip...I think that's just a myth IMO.
Hi I wonder if u can help me had that kit last week from Ducati but I had 3 plugs for the front one was for the front light and the other two no idea so far the back lights I sorted out cheers
From memory, 1 for front light, one for rear light, one for side stand and one for fan removal. Regards Davy
