isnt Rossi an admirable person, someone for kids to look up to? His seeming desperation to win has tipped him over the edge. Racing is rubbing, not inventing new lines way off the racing line to stare at the bloke who is pissing you off. Rossi 0 MM 1, again.
I didn't see the press conference nor the racing as in UK (sob). But after all the reading it seems that Rossi (who I'd like to win a 10th) has severely miscalculated. Suppose he's right and that MM was helping JLo. Was it wise to let his new enemy know that he knew? And what does it change anyway? To be a deserving world champion he has to beat his rivals. If he can't beat Jorge on the same bike what has he got to complain about? But what if he's wrong and MM and JLo aren't best mates? All he has done is antagonise his fan boy who is now behaving like a woman scorned. All he has done is create a bitter enemy where he didn't have one and now for whatever reason it is probably going to cost him the title. Talk about an own goal. His press conference comes over as weak and whinging. Unworthy of him. Of course much as I like VR, he does have form for this. Remember his treatment of Gibernau, supposedly his mate, when he thought he was getting too good. His friendship with Simo would never have lasted if Simo had looked like overshadowing him. As someone said above, he truly is the smiling assassin. He is massively ambitious and completely ruthless and always has been. As for the crash footage, I've never seen another where one of the adversaries looks at the other 3 times in the corner. Normally they concentrate on where they are going. MM got to Rossi and clouded his judgement. And now he has no one to blame but himself.
the looking at him in the corner is a fact but i dont think it was to take him out... more a you keep coming im showing you out kinda thing and rightly so from, where i sit.. but im usually wrong so expect to be so this time
GOOD about time he got almost what he deserves, 3 penalty points is a let off and to lenient For too long the officials have been far to star struck to do anything about his antics,
amazing the different opinons of the same incident Rossi didnt knock him off just was like telling Marquez to get out this way
So, did Lorenzo pass on a yellow flag..or not? Seems to be photos and video footage of him doing a block pass on a yellow flag on t net.
Have to say when I saw it first even as a fan I thought oh thats him done he knocked him off. But the more replays they showed on BT sport the more it did seem like a warning to MM and he came off as he refused to yield on that corner. Whatever, it has lost Rossi the chance of the title.....
Homophobia at its finest. If Rossi just gave Marquez the bumming he so desires, this nasty incident could well have been avoided.
I'm running a training course today and don't have time to check the points etc. so can someone tell me what result Rossi needs from the final race in order to win the championship?
Of course he was leaning into him, he was expecting him to turn right, you know, where the corner was going ! Marquez picked the bike up twice as Rossi wasn't turning, then the knee came into it. Instead Rossi decided to force him out to the edge of the track. Some people need to take the Rossi tinted spectacles off. I've avoided this thread as I had to work this morning and didn't want to know the result, but that was indefensable from Rossi.Marquez did nothing that Rossi hasn't done to others in the past. Rossi is the king of the block pass, slowing others in the process. If he can't take it, he shouldn't give it out. This time he tangled with a rider with the talent to take it back to him. It all comes back to what I said at the start of this thread, he's not the man people would think he is. As the commentatros said in the race, ask Stoner or Gibernau. Throw in Biaggi too. For years he's got away with it because of his popularity.
What was unsporting? Racing him? What would be sporting in your eyes, going slower than you could and letting Rossi finish ahead of you?
he's got away with it trough his popularity and massive talent. MM knew what he was doing when he lent on him in that corner. he knew rossi was gunna put him wide but decided to take a corse of action that ultimately fvked him up. you are quite right in what you say about stoner etc but would you have racing any other way?
That bit, isnt that exactly what MM did. No attempt to stop the Lorenzo pass or take the race to him. All the time he spent playing his blocking game was making the gap wider. Im sure some of the other riders would have tired of him in the same circumstances.
Really? He must have been the only one, because nobody else on the planet saw that coming. These racers can race at these speeds, this close to each other because they know where they are going to turn, brake etc. Marquez was anticipating Rossi to turn into the corner, hence leaning his bike where he expected the space to be. Marquez body lanuage was no different to any other corner, Rossi was looking at him and deliberate in his actions, also kicking out. He's got off very lightly imo.
