  1. Halfords heavy duty battery cables are fine. Available in different lengths and both black and red. :upyeah:

  2. That's really helpful, Ill order that, got to be worth fitting, cheers,

  3. But surely if it was standing for 4 years, you have a brand spanking new battery on it now?

  4. Iv been using a battery off my 996bip that seemed ok. I have now brought a new Yuasa 20amp sealed for life unit from Riders for the SPS. I that this extra cranking power will help. No chance to try it until next weekend , cheers

  5. Its back together dealing with all the points that you guys suggested done ,aside from the starter upgrade kit which is yet to arrive. After a frustrating half hour of trying to start it I realized that I hadn't connected one of the quick shifter wires to the battery. After this numpty mistake it now starts perfectly. Thanks again for all your help. Cant wait for Sunday!

  6. I've got a cold start problem too. A new battery did help sort it. But is the starter sprag at fault when the starter works then stops the engine turning but carries on spinning on it's own?

  7. Bugger :Arghh:

    Thanks Steve

  8. Be aware that there are issues with MRN Electro. I purchased a starter cable kit over PayPal but it never arrived. No response from the seller but thankfully PayPal recovered my money.

  9. @Exige on here is the go to man for starter cable kits these days. Not as cheap as Halfords maybe but they are custom designed for various Ducati models and come with full instructions.

  10. Cheers! will give them a go. :)
