Well, that's an optimistic view. I can't see how Rossi would have wanted to engineer being sent to the back of the grid for the final race. Looks very much like a miscalculation to me. All sport is entertainment, and MotoGP is one of the most entertaining. It's not called the Continental Circus for nothing. The results only have any significance within the paradigm that is MotoGP - otherwise there is no significance at all. One of Lorenzo's issues is that he's not that good at the entertainment bit, just good at the riding part. When you go to a GP, many riders perform gratuitous wheelies at the ends of sessions and wave to the crowd. This helps them become popular and sell merchandise. When I was at Silverstone for the GP, Lorenzo didn't do any of this. Not surprising that his fan base is far smaller than that of 93 or 46.
Aye, but you've forgot to mention that Rossi lost it. The mask slipped and all his clever marketing skills went straight out the window! He's Italian remember. They're prone to a bit of temper loss.

this is a very good point.. MM didnt get up and go mad at all... it was as if he knew that he was being an arse to begin with and could have avoided crashing....
