  1. So you think Smith would be sacked if he didn't simply pull over and let Rossi by? I don't.

Your logic seems to come from the fact that you think the whole world thinks Rossi has been wronged and should be allowed to simply ride to the front of the field in Valencia.

  8. An interesting article, and one some of the Rossi fan boys should read.

How Valentino Rossi reaped what he sowed in the Malaysian Grand Prix

    A snippet.....

What if Marquez had taken out Rossi?

For those who complained that Rossi was treated harshly, imagine if the roles at Sepang had been reversed; if Marquez had forced Rossi wide and down onto the deck.

The 22-year-old would almost certainly have been black-flagged and be facing a one-race ban, if not worse, and Rossi's legion of fans would be calling for Marquez's head to be impaled on a spike – or at least those who aren't doing so already.

Why? Because it fits the narrative that many Rossi fans have chosen to embrace in spite of the facts – that Marquez is the irritating brat who has thrown his toys out of the pram and is now out only to destroy Rossi's championship chances, or even that he is part of some grand conspiracy along with Lorenzo and Dorna to ensure a Spanish champion.

Nonsense. If that was really the case, the most foolproof way of making that happen would have been to disqualify Rossi and give Lorenzo a nine point advantage heading to Valencia.

Besides, why would it be in Dorna's interest to actively try to prevent Valentino achieving a landmark 10th world title, bearing in mind the mass of publicity and casual interest in the sport this would generate?

  9. interesting,,,,,,,,,,,,, if the roles had been reversed,,, MM is in with a good chance of winning the title , but Rossi has no chance,, however Rossi , having a much faster bike, decides to be a massive unsporting shit house and do all he can to fk up MM on track , however he finds that MM is up to his behavour and decides to run him out off track on a slow corner, Rossi finds that he has bitten off more than he can chew and ends with some sand in his face ,,,, is that what you mean by role reversal...

  13. Sebastian Vettel: "Valentino Rossi in Malaysia did absolutely the right thing"
All silent, speaks Sebastian Vettel . One that racing they will be, and how. A super-partes. The Ferrari driver enters a straight leg in the debate flashing Italy: do not talk about F1, but MotoGP. The clash between Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi . The judgment of the German is no appeal, a sentence like lightning: " Rossi? In Malaysia did absolutely the right thing ". Concise and effective. Seb is with the Doctor. Without ifs and buts. This was explained by Mexico, the stage of the F1 race that will take place on the weekend, where he then added: "Rossi is a fighter. I hope he can win his tenth world. In Valencia can definitely do it."

  14. I remember a few years back when Rossi broke his leg and his season turned to shit. With a couple of races left Jorge was fighting for the championship. Rossi wasn't in contention. Pre race Rossi said he would do all he could to help his team mate. When it came to the race it was a different story. It was hard and fair racing but Rossi would not let Jorge past. If they had kept at it then there was a good chance that one or both would have gone down. Jorge saw sense and realised it was better to finish behind Rossi than DNF. Rossi's view afterward was "that's racing". I think Rossi got 3rd and Jorge 4th. Jorge won the championship despite Rossi rather than with his help. And they were team mates.

Sorry Vale if you didn't like Marquez's squabbling over 3rd place, but that's racing. You caused the problem with Marquez with your pre race neurotic paranoia. Its funny how absolutely nobody anywhere realised that MM had messed with Rossi at PI until Rossi brought it up, but it became really evident to all after he mentioned it.

Running another rider off track is not acceptable. It's dangerous behaviour in an already dangerous sport. I've criticised Marquez for doing it before. I think Rossi ruined a bloody good race and deprived millions of fans. I urge you all to stop watching sound byte video clips of the incident, each one edited to support individual views on who was at fault. Instead rewatch the race from the beginning. It was a cracker with real edge of the seat racing. I was shouting at the tele. You also get to see just how hard MM was having to work to stay with Rossi. It was probably the most exciting racing I've seen in a long time with two of the most talented riders on the planet going at it. I'm so angry with Rossi as I'm a big fan but feel that he let a lot of people down on Sunday.

  15. Page 46 of the thread! :D

  16. Vettel should stick to rich boys go carts that drive themselves :expressionless:

  17. Think that is a stretch as a comparison

Somewhat different as VR hadn't dropped back deliberately (if that is indeed what MM did) to mess with Jorge and Dani Pedrosa (the title rival to Jorge) had crashed and broken his wrist in practice from a stuck throttle if I remember rightly so the title was in effect over by race time so people could purely ride for position.

  18. I have just watched the motegi 2010 race and in my oppinion it was much of the same...but the Rossi fans wont see that with there blinkers on.

  19. As I understand it, VR is not complaining about close racing (ala Motegi), more the fact he felt it was a deliberate attempt to influence the championship in favour of JL and in that respect it has nothing whatsoever in common with Motegi.

There are 2 points to this. Firstly VR I suspect did receive some special treatment from this incident whether provoked or not and I think and anyone of lower GP status as CS said would likely have been black flagged. I don't think VR is or ever has been an angel nor do I expect MM to be, but deliberately messing with a championship that does not even involve your own team or team mate sticks in my throat. All this assumes it's deliberate which none of us will ever know for sure.

  20. This is what the riders should be doing anyway. The championship will take care of itself at the end of it all.

I can understand team mates helping each other, but everyone else should be racing as hard as they can. If they decide to let others through and not get involved, then they are influencing the championship.
