After testing 1299 and bring heavily disappointed , I'm curious to know what dealers are offering part x or to buy in all 1199 modes base , s , tricolore and r models . As I'd be more intersted in a 11 , I know dealers were offering as low as 8 k on base this time last year and 12k on s model . What kind of figures bouncing around a year later thanks .
this year found out you aint even getting bottom book for your p/x and there wanting top book for their bike , on all models bmw gsxr zx etc they musnt have herd the worlds in recession in dealer land,
As big fan of 1199 , I was expecting so much from 1299 personally I felt 1199 better bike at first impressions . If I'd took a loss on 11 to trade for 12 I'd be gutted . Ps hit the dislike button now :sunglasses:
If they gave you top book for your bike , then at what value would they sell it on at? Top book plus £1500.... ? Then the next person would be on here moaning that the dealer wants £1500 more than top book for the bike they want to buy. Buy the bikes at bottom book or cheaper if possible , and sell on at top retail money. That's business surely and not a differcult concept ? If you don't like what a dealer offers simply sell the bike privately and then buy the newer one privately too.
that's what I intend doing then all my hard earned cash doesn't go to the dealer with the attitude like it or lump it , and when hes out on his arse a know im 3k richer and happier
I seem to find most dealers offering below book nowadays . But yes I agree sell privately , but I only buy new bikes def more chance of a better deal with no trade in
that's why I was in touch with a few dealers today to buy new as I always do , my point being as well its winter time, its the middle of the registration, your new bikes going to stand in your garage the next 4 months and the salesman still got the impression they are doing you a favour, so instead of giving them an extra 3/4 k at least a will let them keep their brand new shinny bikes for them to sit at their desks and stare at over winter, :tonguewink:
I think selling privately is easier said than done unfortunately, not that I have tried. But if there is no warranty I would think its not easy to get a private sale.
agree with you selling privately is a bit more awkward but if your 3k better off in the deal its worth it, and theres loads of pannis out there with no warranty now , so its a mine field ,, my panni was in about 10 times for warranty stuff, also another way to sell is privately in the dealers let him take a drink for it,
Jimmy43 is wright big savings to be made dealers are just taking the piss because its the easy option for most people thats fact!! however their are lots of people who still buy private you get paid and the worlds your oyster and like he says loads of bargins to be had for CASH MONEY :thumbsup: Tip Top
