  1. I don't blame him for making the appeal, it's not unsporting to do so and ultimately I personally feel he's got grounds as there was no previous case to go on in terms of the issuing of 3 points (or so I believe) for what he did.

At the time when all the world was going mental thinking Rossi had kicked out due to the camera angles being shown then people were saying it was lenient,

however after the dust settled and replays showed the actions more clearly it actually looks more like he simply pulled over with the intention of simply slowing down the situation and to highlight Marquez's aggressive riding up until that point.

In fact Rossi had already turned away towards the corner by the time Marquez tips in, thus it was he who initiated contact.

Technically it's hard to even say rossi ran him wide as rossi was ahead in that corner and as Brookes points out, Marquez could easily have chosen to pull underneath, not back alongside the outside

  2. Got to page 48, skipped the next few pages...

Prediction: Rossi gets a stay of execution, qualifies, has a coming together with Jlo, neither score, Rossi champion :Smug:

Later appeal denied, so Rossi excluded from results :Shifty:

But as he is 7 points ahead, is champion

  3. i think he would gain some lost respect if he just (rightly or wrongly) took his lumps, started from the back and did his best to win. goin down the road he is MAY get a championship but it WILL lose him alot of fans.
the hard core will support him but those that have more than one favorite and those new to the sport wont. dont get me wrong i still think MM played more than a small part in this mess and they should both ave been punished or neither but what is done is done. get on with it!

  4. Didn't the official appeal document state they have to reach a decision by the 6th of November? If that's the case they'll have decided by the race so if they uphold the punishment, he still won't need to bother qualifying.

  5. Tribunal Arbitral du Sport Court of Arbitration for SportMEDIA RELEASEFIM MOTOGP CHAMPIONSHIP 2015VALENTINO ROSSI FILES AN APPEAL AT THE COURT OF ARBITRATION FOR SPORT (CAS)Lausanne, 30 October 2015 – Italian MotoGP rider Valentino Rossi has filed an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the FIM Stewards’ decision to impose 3 penalty points on his record following an incident with another rider during the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix race held on 25 October 2015.The FIM Race Direction found that Mr Rossi deliberately ran wide in order to force the other rider off line, resulting in contact causing the other rider to crash out of the race. For this breach of the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix Regulations (the FIM Regulations), the FIM Race Direction imposed 3 penalty points on the rider’s record. Mr Rossi immediately appealed such decision to the FIM Stewards who dismissed the appeal and confirmed the penalty imposed by the FIM Race Direction. Since Valentino Rossi already has 1 penalty point from an earlier incident, this decision brings him to a total of 4 penalty points. On the basis of the FIM Regulations, a rider with 4 penalty points must start the next race from last grid position. In his appeal to the CAS, Mr Rossi seeks the annulment of the penalty, or at least a reduction from 3 points to 1. Together with his appeal, Mr Rossi has filed an urgent application to stay the execution of the challenged decision in order not to lose his place on the starting grid at the next, and last, event of the season which will be held in Valencia/Spain on 6-8 November 2015.An arbitration procedure is in progress.

***A decision on Mr Rossi’s request for a stay is expected to be issued no later than 6 November 2015.***

  18. If there is an annulment of the penalty i will be very surprised, Rossi made a big mistake and he should just accept it, to receive a lesser penalty would make a mockery out of the FIM Race direction, who i think, because it was Rossi they gave him the most lenient penalty they could. There is still a very real chance he could get the title, but i would much rather he won it without resorting to tactics like this

  19. did you mean piece of ass or pic of ass?

  20. What do you mean "most lenient penalty"? The stewards could have found that Rossi was not at fault and no penalty was required. Or they could have found that he was at fault to a minor degree and given him one penalty point. Whatever your opinion of the three points and back-of-the-grid penalty (and opinions are widely divergent), it very obviously was not the most lenient penalty.
