I could see something like that still happening these days. If the rider behind wins the championship by taking himself and his rival out, and there are no consequences to his actions, it's a possibility.

A points deduction would be the only way to stop them doing it. The governing bodies need to grow a pair though, it never happens. Capirossi should have been docked enough points to finish behind Harada in the championship for that stunt imo.

Remember Senna taking Prost out in the 1st corner at Suzuka. Schumacher on Damon Hill in Australia. Like I say, they never get hit where it hurts.
