Just how much do you ride your bike?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Dave, Sep 29, 2012.

  1. A pal of mine starts and rides his bike every single month after he has cleaned it.

Who's the most obsessive rider in this forum?

  2. On average 2-3 times a week. When I was commuting on average 6-6.5 days a week

  3. When time allows and the sun is out.........so not much

  4. Used to everyday without fail .
Now sometimes I have to use a car ( grumble) .
I actually get total withdrawal symptoms if I can't ride.
I get miserable even when I do have to wrap up.
It's the one time I feel at peace .. Once I've got out of this town and am away

  5. When it's working :rolleyes::tongue:

  6. Mon to Fri to get to work (but that's only about 6 miles round trip and all in urban traffic :frown: ) unless the weather is pretty bad. Other than that I rarely have a chance to go for more than 2 hours every weekend... too busy at the moment :frown:

  7. When the weather is half decent (and I'm not away on business) I'll be out

  8. Likewise. Just passed 3500 mls on my MTS which I bought new at the back end of April this year.

  9. Not enough. Racing has got in the way he last 18 months or I'd be doing at leas 6 or 7k a year pleasure miles

  10. If it's dry and the sun's out at the weekend then I'm out on it, don't have time during the week this time of year.

  11. Since changing jobs in June last year, I commute on the Monster 5 days a week unless it's really icy (about 2 1/2 weeks earlier this year) or I've slept so badly that I don't think I've got enough "awake bike brain" to ride safely. In 3 years of ownership I've done 22500 miles on it.

  12. 5 to 7 days a week (when it's not being repaired or icy/snow). Commuting, IAM observing, w/e rides and tours.

  13. I learnt a long time ago that it's the quality of the ride, not the amount of miles, that makes a happy biker. I am now happy to be seen as a fair weather rider, but I still ride all year round and still cover around 7000 miles a year (not this year though, thanks to the crap weather). I really love biking these days, but I was a far more accomplished rider when I was dispatching. It's surprising how quickly your skill diminishes if you don't use it, though.

  14. Dry weekends only now.

  15. Mainly at the weekends or mid week afternoon for me, Sunday morning's are the best ( not this morning ) i will meet up with a friend or go out by myself and ride for about a hour or so have some breakfast at a dinner or road side cafe. Then ride for about another 90 minutes or so back home. If it is raining i can't be bothered as i got the bike for fun, owever if i av e a track day booked and it rains i will still do that. As Figaro said above it is mot the amount of miles that makes me happy but the quality.]
The only obsessive thing i do is i always clean the bike after each ride, so it will be nice for the next time.

  16. I ride 6 days a week minimum on my Ducati 749 Testastretta Commuterbike, love it
