Vw Group To Sell Ducati?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Gazdoc, Nov 4, 2015.

  1. I read the translation and it didn't really clarify much.

Is this not a case of the VAG group's financial liabilities in the wake of the emissions scandal, fueling some media gossip?

  2. To be honest im not surprised VW are in the cart big time.

  3. good. every part of VW is a contradiction to an Italian sports bike manufacturer. they would be better advised to invest in armchair manufacturing. because other than being a comfortable ride they suck.

  10. I suppose a Harley\Ducati tie up would be just as popular! I think I'll be leaving the country now...

  11. What to do if you own one of each, you be in deep shit if Ducati made vans

  12. Heh. MCN. LOL.

  13. Would he have the money to finance MotoGP and Superbike?[/QUOTE]

The racing department is largely self-financing through sponsorship - last figures I saw for the MotoGP squad were costs of £26m & sponsorship around £24m

  14. Wot ??......and move production to Thailand :unamused:

  15. Ducati already have a factory in Thailand ;)

  16. Oh shit....synergy [IMG]

  17. For the Scrambler. Real Ducatis are still made by Italians fuelled by espresso and cigarettes.

I hope VAG do sell Ducati and the new buyer is a proper motorcycle manufacturer not a corporate car giant.
It seems abundantly clear from Tim Macaccbee's response to the Ask Tim thread that the present regime are committed to further corporatizing the Ducati margue and making bikes which are fashion items rather than serious motorcycles.
