So, I've only gone and bought a GSXR 750 SRAD (injection) with a K1 fairing kit on it. It was a bit cheaper and older than the bikes I was originally looking at, but it comes with a 30-day warranty so everything will be fine, right It has k-tech internals at the front and I'm eyeing up a Nitron rear shock for it too. My Motolug collapsible trailer is on its way and the car is going in to have a towbar fitted next week too. Now I just need some actual riding talent, a reliable bike and all will be good. Pretty excited to get out on it though...
Finally got round to being able to pick the bike up after having to get a towbar fitted and buy a trailer. By the way, the Motolug collapsible trailer is brilliant, so glad I paid a bit more and got that one compared to the cheaper, more basic options out there. Anywho, here she is. Getting a local motorbike mech/track day instructor/racer to have a look over it this week, but all being well it'll have its first outing with me at Brands Indy a week Saturday
Could you not squeeze in a track day this year? I'm sure there are spaces on the day I've booked on 21st November.
So first track day done. I actually ended up at Oulton Park, last minute change of venue due to weather conditions. It was a bright but bloody cold day, track was very damp in the morning, slowly drying through the day but I had a great time and can see how people get addicted to track riding. My poor 1199 hasn't had the cover off it for god knows how long, I sometimes forget I own it! Pic from Oulton... Trouble is, I've told the wife I don't need to spend any more money on the track bike now that I've bought the bike and essentials, but already it's had new rearsets, levers, WOW's (thank god!) and because I'm a tart I've taken all the decals off to replace them with new ones as the ones on there were horribly faded. Oh, and I'm fitting an Akro can and painting the wheels black. I'd quite like it to be spring/summer though so I can do some bloody track days instead of farting around with it!
