Ducati 748 Rev Problem

  1. hi all
I have a problem with my 748, its revs up to 5500 by it self even with the throttle bodies, butterflies closed, if I yank the throttle like normal it sounds great but if I let it go it goes to normal for a split second and the revs up to 5500 again.
I replaced the computer and chip and also the tps. I inspected the inlet rubber for leaks or cracks and, I tested the crack censor and done a compression test on the motor, all is fine.

Is there any one on here that can help, I have no idea what to do next, I called numerous Ducati mechanics and every one of them is scratching there heads.

  2. it has to be something fairly simple but appreciate still difficult to pinpoint for you and could be several things. If butterflies are both closed and settings not been tampered with and all air bleed/adjuster blanking screws in place in inlet manifold (or exhaust for that matter). then next best bet would be TPS for me - either adjusted way out or faulty just for starters.

  3. Hi Chris, I replaced the tps and also had a look, there is no air coming in any where, its really bugging me.

  4. As mentioned by Chris, when the TPS was replaced, was it set up? It's not just a bolt on. The base setting is critical the injection running properly

  5. So you have set up the TPS and checked air bleeds/balanced the throttle bodies? I wonder if you have a dribbling injector? It's a bit rare but has bike stood for some time?

^ Nelly is your man - if he can't diagnose it then nobody can
