  1. Get a large felt tip pen and write " IN " in front of the company's name on their sign board

  3. Yep, it would be if you could walk at a 45° angle....
My bother once knocked his head running down the stairs and he's only 5'10"
It's the 6' length, upholstered (4-5" thick)...what Vi Spring describe as a continental head board.

The house is +300 old, so every door way is different, low and wide (probably why I liked it 20 years ago).

  4. No doubt the property is "listed" so it is impossible to convert it into a habitable home.

Where's my sodding soap box, I want to rant!

  5. Drove my "new" automatic yesterday.
The bloody idiot previous owner only fitted a flat replacement mirror on the nearside...I can see about 2' square!
Purchased the correct one on ebay and then I got
Recommendations based on your recent purchase...
Anyone fancy a reason for a divorce?

I would just love to see the logic that lead from a BMW 3 series side mirror to this?
I think SWMBO would first stab then commit me if this turned up in the yard.

  6. Nope....managed to avoid a full listing as the interior had been cut about too much, three reception rooms into one, someone reversed the stair case over 100 years ago....etc.
Just got some notes on how the front must look...White walls, sash windows etc,
Not sure of how this is legally enforced as it was all a long time ago now.

  7. Finished my job in Belfast at 2 this aft. Booked the ferry for 7:30 pm. When I arrived at the port, they rushed me onto to the 2:45 ferry to Stranraer. This means I'll be home 5 hours earlier than expected! :)

  9. Explains it. My daughter has just bought a house with low ceilings, we are fine, Lewis, her fiancé, 6' 4" has to duck under some beams and on one of the flights of stairs. However, painted the sitting room ceiling without a step ladder on Sunday. If it is listed, theirs is grade two, it will be recorded what is listed. It can be wishy washy though, it is noted the windows differ from the neighbours ( other side of semi) but not how they should look.

  10. Started to rub down forks. Can't decide between painting and polishing.

  11. Isn't he related to Madge and her freeloaders already ? ;)

  12. A month ago today, I opened a new shop on the local high street selling "Closed" signs.
