just hope we're not reduced to having to watch wsb :Stop: ive decided crazy/the maniac joe and dovi will take over rossi's mantle when he retires, if there's no brits worth shouting for cant not watch it (especially the moto 3)
its become a Spanish race series MM and Lorenzo are frauds. ,Dorna are corrupt worse than fifa only hope is they will see sence because when Rossi goes there is no personalities left just corporate sponsored droids and thousands of fans will want transparency
Everyone loves superheroes and the competitive battles that movies, books, and cartoons have depicted. Good vs Evil: God vs the Devil, Asterix vs the Romans, Marvel Superheroes, Batman vs Joker, Superman vs Lex Luthor, 007 vs Blofeld... So there are a few principles MotoGP (or any great competitive serial) needs: there needs to be a good hero who battles evil opponents the good guy must show exceptional flair and skill in the toughest of moments, and there needs to be an evil protagonist who has unique skills, but -overall- not 'quite' as good the good guy must be likeable by the masses and have attractive and aspirational virtues - comedy factor/winning attitude/humble background/glamorous other half the good guy should be victorious in battle (but not always) and ultimately win (the championship) Everyone loves heroes, and this is what draws young kids in as fans. If the evil protagonist always wins, MotoGP will lose the fanbase and attraction of young/upcoming stars/interested parties. VR has been the good guy for MotoGP, and JL/MM have certainly been the evil protagonists the past year. There needs to be a successor to VR who has similar qualities. Many thought 58 might be, and why Simmo's death hit harder than expected. DP lacks the flair. Most others are too 'meh'.... I see Crazy Joe as Robin, not Batman. WHO IS GOING TO BE THE NEXT BATMAN?!
Yeah, I have to agree with this question. Think what you like of Lorenzo, he's annoyingly consistently fast and showed huge balls when he broke his collarbone in Assen and got back on the bike the next day to take 5th. And Marquez is a phenomenon - whether you like him personally or his tactics or not. All of the Aliens are unbelievable bike racers and I'd watch any one of them. As for the new crop, I'd say the Maverick looks promising as does Aleix Asparagus. I like Bradders, Cal and Redding but I think, alas, they all lack that last 1/10 percent of genius-level talent that separates the championship winners from the also-rans. Just my humble opinion of course!
Get them all on the same combined weight and we will see different riders at the front . The machinery should be weighted so that there is a combined minimum rider/bike weight .
It's an interesting idea but if that were all that was in-play here, Dani'd be winning everything, no?
Very true. I have a lot of respect for Dani. Met him a few times and he's fecking T I N Y!! How he muscles around that bike I'll never know.
Fomula one has been doing it for years . They realise that there is an unfair advantage for heavier drivers so combined weights are a rule in there tin pot series .BBC Sport - Formula 1 weight limits to be increased in 2015
Mmmm i allways prefared the villan,in motogp its not one good guy one bad guy is it..there is only one good guy acording to the blinkred ones.
Frauds Marquez blocks Rossi for several races and gets away with it. Dorna give Lorenzo championship by starting Rossi last. .Marquez has done dangerous overtakes all his career never been made to start at back of the grid ..one rule for the Spanish one for the rest
The problem with any post relating to Rossi is that you'll get both barrels from both ends of the spectrum... The Fanboys and haters... BOTH sets are as bad as each other.. and tbh a lot of the comments on various sites carry more vitriol are from the haters... Anyway...When he goes the premier class will be a lesser place, only an idiot will tell you otherwise, BUT it will roll on and the racing will be still worth watching and hopefully someone will step into his shoes..... Iannone? as someone mentioned earlier, Marco was his natural successor, huge miss... The Spanish thang?? forget this years shenanigans, it needs looking at, of course it's biased towards Spain... riders on the best bikes, breaking rules for Marquez in his rookie year etc etc..... the amount of money they put in is great, but doesn't mean that the title HAS to stay in Spain every year regardless..
Following a sport because of an individual doesn't make you a sports fan. It makes you a brainwashed member of a cult.
