  1. Go on then, if you had to ... which Jap IL4 would you go for?

  2. only jap engine I would entertain is a pushrod v twin manufactured in england and often found on the front of 3 wheeler morgans or used for brough superiors

  3. I think I'd go for another R1 cross plane crank jobby, cos they feel and ride like a V4

  4. That's hard to say, I own a 2010 blade which is an absolute weapon but only yesterday after riding a couple of Ducatis have I decided to part ways with that purely to finance a new more 'sit up' bike as I prefer sportsbikes on the track now and can't bin that as its too much, no point in risking that sort of money IMO

SO....then I promptly drove out this morning and purchased an older R1 (5pw injected) so that I can still keep a decent sportsbike for the track with occasional road in mind should the mood take me, it's a beauty as well and stands me at less than a 3rd of the cost with only twice the mileage. It's also a decent winter project which I love

so my vote is R1 & Blade :)

  5. If we are talking new it would be the current Fireblade. If we are talking old it would be a 2002 FireBlade or 1998 R1. But if I could have a V4, I really want an RC45.

  6. VFR 750 RC 30 no question, but almost anything else will do from a TS 250 to a ZRX1200R

  7. What's up with the ZX10R then? It hasn't got a single vote.

  8. 10r is not popular trackside either.

For me RC30 but, real world GSXR 750. Nimble 600 chassis with 150hp on tap.

  9. 1998 'blade, used everyday and love it... tweaked slightly

  10. Dave,

Can you add Jap V twins to the list please?
Then i can vote for a Panigale

  11. I've ticked the blade, which I rode and thought was truly brilliant, but if I was actually going to buy an IL4 it would have to be the Beemer S1000RR - mind blowing :upyeah:

  12. Wot? No Ninjas?

  13. Why are 10R's not popular trackside? Thought they were supposed to be good?

Rode a prepped S1000rr at Le Mans and it was mega.

  14. Bmw's are shite! I've had 3 all crap

  15. Gsxr 1000 for me

  16. Ummmm no RC30 so 'Blade, a real early one - the '94 in the black/gold scheme when they were still a bit raw & not all plastic & woofty like they are now?

  17. From a ride pov I could be persuaded to agree with you but from a build pov I couldn't. That's why I went for the new Big Bang R1. Fantastic engine, performance, handling and good build quality too.

  18. But over priced

  19. Unlike Ducati's?

  20. Did you know a BMW R1200RT will out-accelerate an RC30 (according to Bike magazine)..?

Somehow they don't seem so precious now:frown:
