Seems a bit strange to me Simon you're asking for folks opinions on what a fair price for it is but you've just bought it so you must have a pretty good idea what that is, if you want to sell it why not just add the extra you're wanting to make and stick it up for sale on here
Some years ago to be classed as a trader you had to be turning over ac ertain number of vehicles. However nowadays the taxman classes anyonje that buys a vehicle with the intention of selling at a profit as a trader. Now i understand that some people buya nd swap bikes alot, but id be very careful stating what you have if you arent declaring the appropiate tax etc. Plus you do realise now if anyone buys from you and they have a problem they could contact trading standard and there would be only one winner. If you are going to buy and sell a bit do it, but under the radar mate its loads easier.....
Ok ok I bought the 996 from cooksters mate with lots of spares that's where the 748 barrels Pistons came from as they are no good to me. The 1098 fairings and other 1098 bits I had are no good to me as I've now sold the 1198. I bought the 998 to either make a few bob or if not keep it when the spring comes. Pretty much everything I sell is cheap. I've met a few folk from the forum in person and got on really well with them. I'm here thinking I may be useful to know and able to help out with parts ect. If you guys don't want me to post anymore parts or bikes for sale on here just say the word and I will stick to eBay. I don't class myself as a trader I just love Ducatis
Simon, so long as you are up front (and you have been) and you can establish a good relationship with forum members (which you are) I don't see any reason why you shouldn't post here. I think it is fair to iterate, with recent changes in consumer law, selling on comes with a whole raft of labilities. If you are happy to deal with that if it arises, good luck to you. I buy stuff and cannot bear to part with it. My loft is full, as is the shed, the spare room, the dining room ........... Andy
I am upfront and as straight as they come. I do have an obsession with Ducatis I end up buying spares for whatever bike I own. If I no longer own that particular bike I tend to sell the spares I bought. Nobody can say I'm not upfront and fair. If I put somethings on the forum it will be cheaper than if I put them on eBay.
