959 New 959

So sorry.... I think it's fucking horrible. The whole point about Ducati is their blend of cutting edge style with character and performance. If I wanted bolt-on, wanky side exhausts and out-and-out performance then I'd have bought an S1000RR. I struggled with the 899 and its double swinger.... thank God this shit wasn't in the mix when I was making my choice last year... I'd be on a BMW now. My only hope is that when sales plummet, some marketing 'genius' unfucks this and we can return to the proper Ducati vector that saw the 1198 evolve into the Pani. In the meantime, I'll sell my 899 (with underbelly Termis) for £10 less than a new 959.... It looks mint! :tonguewink:

 

I love how all the 899 owners suddenly think their bikes are worth more money. Dream on!

 

Mine also is suddenly worth at least £1500 extra ;-)

I think when people said 'worth more' they mean more sought after, not more coin.

As soon as the 899 came out, nobody wanted the 848, I know cause I was trying to sell my 1 year old 848 and dealers were offering ridiculous money! At least with this one it shouldn't render the 899 a pig

 

I don't think it will but the 959 will ultimately be defined by the way it rides. People will soon get used to the exhaust changes, even though its far from perfect and if the 959 proves to be a better ride, then it will still sell well.

In any case buying an 1199 and putting it in wet mode gives a similar feel. :wink:

 

IMO it's totally different to ride than a 1199, the 1199 has different steering head angle and swingarm pivot, 6 inch rear and heavier crank, it's a noticeably different.

 

Are you sure about that? Cans are one of the last mods I'd make to my bike and certainly don't expect to pay for parts that I immediately have to chuck in the bin.

That's a bit Harsh on Kia isn't it? They do some great vehicles

 

A decade ago they started to get quite reasonable for the money! They have continued to improve, there is MUCH shitter stuff out there trying to make a name for itself now, arguably they are better screwed together than some of the tat that comes out a Peugeot or Citroen or Vauxhall factory!
