Crap remakes and covers ....

  1. The Italian Job .... Why why .,
    Most horror films :(
    Total Recall :(
Oh my biggest hate TV remakes of movies.
The shining by Kubrick stunning ..., by some pile of poo American tv company grrrrrrr hidious!

  2. IMO most Dylan songs are better as a remake...

  3. How about the Daniel Craig remake of Casino Royale, compared to the earlier version featuring David Niven.

  4. What about the other way round, I like the simplicity of L.A. Takedown when compared to Heat. Even though LA was filmed and edited much quicker for TV and Heat had big budget & stars, when I watch Heat it feels like it delves unnecessarily into plot offshoots.

  5. Thanks blufoot, will check out LA Takedown ... as HEAT was a big favourite of mine. :upyeah:

  6. If the actors were a big part of your enjoyment you might be a bit disappointed... I saw LA Takedown first so saw Heat as a remake from the off, might have given me a different viewpoint

  7. This is irony, right? How could anything that is inferior to an original steaming pile be likeable?

  8. It's been a while since I've seen Pacino or De Niro in a film where they weren't essentially playing themselves rather than the characters - except maybe Pacino in Insomnia, that was a good performance - so I think I can manage without those two.
The story in HEAT was fairly simple, the acting fairly straightforward but as entertainment - it rocked. Well plotted and directed.

  11. Loz me old chum... stand with feet apart, put yer hands on yer knees, grit yer teeth...i'll hit a spot u never knew fekking existed son
seriously though...i can park my car on in your bay window and we can have toot on the garden hose and this.....this delusion...can all be over....

  12. Funky ... mate ... did all that last week. Why don't we just have a listen to Cheryl Cole's latest and chill?

  13. A good remake - Pearl Jam, Where can my baby be? Nirvana - The Man Who Sold the World. But that "Breaking my Heart" remake is absolute SHIT!!!

  14. Heat also being the last 1/2 decent bit of acting Val Kilmer managed....

  15. For top ranking sacrilege - it's gotta be Rolf Harris destroying Stairway to Heaven. He should have done time for that!

One that works for me though is Johnny Cash singing Hurt by Nine Inch Nails - totally awesome version of a mediocre original.

  16. the kids vocal is weaker than teddy bear piss.

What a brilliant line, best I have heard for ages. Did you just make it up or has it been around for years and I have led a sheltered life?

Do you think the quality of the cover/remake is as more about who is doing it? As above, Man who sold the world by Nirvana and All along the watchtower by Hendrix, nothing wrong with them. The problem is when it is done because of an absence of talent .

  17. No no no. No. Rolf Harris' Stairway to Heaven was inspired. Completely bonkers. It is the pinnacle of absurdity.

I actually love the fact that it exists, even if I can hardly bear to listen to it. LOL.

  18. The girl with the dragon tattoo. Original fantastic, remake shit!!!!

  19. seen the remake and watching the original this weekend, expecting it to be loads better. Will watch it with English subtitles rather than crappy American accent dubbing.
