I like my 2014 MTS1200GT, which has two faults and is putting me off the DVT to the point I will probably change it for a GS. The rear brake is fragile and has been repaired twice. The dealer has offered to replace the master cylinder next time. Clearly this is a common defect as so many forum members have suffered the same issue. Has the DVT addressed this problem. A drive shaft is the ideal final drive for a serious touring motorcycle, is there a possibility that Ducati might adopt it on future touring bikes ? Is there any possibility of the ST series being brought back ? Thanks
Ducati seem to be pushing toward ever-more complicated electronics and mechanical systems, for example Skyhook and DVT. This seems to be despite reliability questions with existing systems. Do you feel this is a good approach or should Ducati be working on getting quality control right before complicating things further?
Should Ducati take more stringent action against dealers who deliver substandard customer service? Growth of groups ( eg DMC) in one region can lead to a monopoly reducing competition & choice resulting in apathetic service levels.
Edit: posts deleted! I don't know how else to put this, but as there seems to be some confusion on what this thread is for: please keep this thread to relevant questions only. If you're struggling to think of something relevant then perhaps refrain from cluttering this thread up with unconstructive comments. Thanks.
Virtually every post has a question in it, any additional narrative is customer sentiment / feeling. It would perhaps be useful for Tim to read this 'clutter' too.
Hi Rosso, Sorry, I didn't mention that I've already removed around 20 posts that didn't add any value to the thread.
What quality control plans are in place and how are they reviewed vs number of warranty claims received. I had a panigale as my first ducati and the number of warranty claims was terrible...dash, forks, rear shock, engine, exhausts On a 18month old bike and 10k miles this was very bad and has left a very tarnished perception of ducati quality
Dear all, thanks for taking the time to post your questions. I, and my colleagues do read the Ducati Forum reasonably regularly so some of the questions above are things I've seen before, some not. Some easy to answer and some less so. I hope you'll respect that, but hopefully I'll cover most things as comprehensively as I can. In the meantime, I'll go and consult with some friends on questions I need some input on and will put something together in the next couple of weeks. Thanks again, Tim
Can I have some rockers for my 1998 748 please Tim, as all the chrome plating seems to have fallen off the old ones? :Angelic:
Is there any chance I'll ever be able to buy a Ducati online like I can everything else. Will software updates ever be made downloadable ? A sparse dealer network adds unnecessary mileage and is not good for the environment lol.
Is there any chance at all that Ducati will one day produce once again a beautiful sports-touring, quite comfy, all-day bike - ie not something with a beak and a sit-up-and-beg riding position?
It's not for the faint of heart. Or for chizel either, but he still posts there Off Topic Replies To Posts In Oh-so-serious Threads | Page 36 | Ducati Forum
