It would have shown a little more thought and surely can't be beyond Ducati to have come up with a system like that. That's the crazy thing, if they'd stuck some underseat cans on this whole conversation would have been a debate about which looked better, the underbelly or underseat cans with many people probably preferring the underseat cans! Instead, they've just put off a ton of potential buyers instead with the universally disliked side cans.
underseat Ducatis look like fat arses now compared to phanis, I doubt underseat exhausts will be seen again, as emissions are reduced, the cans run hotter. No good for under your ass!
Something like this is actually better than the 899 cans, I know its an 1199 and a full system but cant be difficult to be made to work with the 959 swing arm.
Cats and mufflers are getting bigger, theres no room left on the skinny pani. these wont meet emissions testing, but look good!
I meant as aftermarket rather than standard. I realise the days of fruity standard cans are now over.
For me, that works. Doesn't intersect the rear wheel which is the main issue with the new pipes aesthetically. I could compromise on the fairing lines. I strangely prefer it to regular underbelly cans. From the side
Ducati wanted to make a super cool bike for the eye, and they pulled it off, XX99 is stunning, downside is the pipes had to be under the engine, meaning a lot of problems, heat, poor mid, loud etc. And with euro 4 they werent able to make it unless the hideous side silencers.
