Sorry to detour from the 959 exhaust thread after reading a guy after swapping 899 for 1199 and I'm yet to ride an 899 . Heard good things what bhp any one done much to one eg full system ecu flash fueling module ? Is the power delivery low down or all top end curious to find out what the most u can get out of it .
I went the other way from 1199 to 899. 899 needs to rev'd loads but it's easier to ride fast as it's not got the uncontrollable 7k hit a 1199 has. I'll try a 1299 at some point as I bet it's loads nicer than the 1199 from what I read
Thanks d8mok itching for a new ducati heavily disappointed with the 1299 tested 2 , think il give 899 a whirl . Look forward to finding out your take on the 1299 .
I really prefer the 899. Best bike I've owned in terms of usability. It's a bit bland to look at but spot on to ride.
Just come from an 899, brilliant bike in every way. Good through traffic (for a sports bike) and comes on song when pinned back. Not got a bad word to say about them. Test rode the 1299 and it rides just as well when docile but then it's like someones arse raped a bull with chili on its dick!
Most sources seem to have tested the 899 at 130hp at the rear wheel which isn't bad, I rode a 1199 and didn't really get on with it, the 899 is great? Can really Rev it hard
I think about 140 rwhp with systems may be to google the 899 race bikes for sale off the ducati trioptions cup,
Yep 140 is about right, depending on the dyno obviously. Our three identical tri-options bikes were all within 1bhp of each other on the Laguna Performance Centre Dyno earlier in the year. All stock bikes in terms of engine with just the Termi and Ducati Up-map.
I think Al Fagan did an article on the 899 cup bikes and said there were a few important changes to get more power, large air intake scoops, exhaust (of course) but also thy all removed the fuel pump filters as apparently that gets them 2hp! Sounds mad and u wouldn't do it on the road but doesn't matter for race bike. I would imagine u can get 132-134hp with the termi's and filter and up map but anything further is custom map territory
140 is good power from a 899 sissy more than enough for road riding the first early r1 put out about 134 rwhp,
