1200 Enduro What Bmw Can Do, Ducati Can Do Better?? Adventure V.s. Enduro :-)

  1. Maybe that's a question for a Ducati tech. Not sure what would happen on a warranty claim for hydro lock on a supposed enduro bike. That breather isn't that high although the belt chamber isn't the ignition chamber so maybe the belts are allowed a bit of H2O

  2. If a dose of wet water was harmful to toothed belts, they would hardly be able to use them for the final drive of the XDiavel, would they? Plus lots of car engines have cam belts which get wet whenever it rains - doesn't seem to do them any harm.

  3. Concerns are wether the belt would effectively transport water into the engine though

  4. Behind the belt pulleys are seals designed to keep the oil inside the engine, which are pretty effective as a rule. The seals would probably be good enough to keep water outside the engine.

  5. Naming it an enduro is nonsense. BMW call the bike an adventure. Seems more realistic. Next will be a scrambler.....doh

  6. Got it... The Ducati Multistrada 'Slightly Muddy but then go home to clean it before putting it in the garage' edition - now with bigger fuel tank.

I should have been in marketing!

  7. I suspect Tesco car parks will be full of MTSs Enduro next year, clearly with alu boxes and ready for a RTW trip the next day! ;)

  8. I had the same problem on mine for almost a year, they fixed it under warranty at my 15k service, was a cam shaft oil seal seems fine now but took them 4 days to get and fit the part.

  9. I am already eyeing this up to replace my DVT S when the finance is up.
Will it take the standard panniers as I could just reuse mine :)

  10. That's my suspicion as it looks to be coming from the belt cover? image.jpeg
Was at the NEC yesterday. Nothing blew my socks off, so it would be difficult to chose between the GS, XR, Enduro Multi or the Trumpet Explorer XCA, were I to be needing a change prematurely?

  11. Not quite as catchy as PP for the Pikes Peak though is it. Or is that PP for piss poor?
