Newbie In Co. Durham Looking To Purchase Multistrada

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Fazer10uk, Nov 25, 2015.

  1. Hi everyone, I'm a superbike riderof 25 years or so, had a good few bikes over the years starting with GPZ900 onto FZR 1000 exup, firestorm,12 bandit, fire blade, original R1. Started to get fed up with sports bike and bought the original Fazer 1000 I was really happy with that bike and kept it for 5 years, sold it because I had to - kids and all that. Whoops missed one I had a CCM 604 super moto for a while with the Fazer what a hoot. Bit of a quiet period for a couple of years as money was tight to bring the story up to date the past 5 years or so has been xjr 1300 gsx 1400, gsxr 1000 k2, gsxr 1000 k6 another xjr 1300 and I have currently an Aprilia Tuono 1000 the generation 2.
I think this bike history paints a picture especially the past few years, I wanted an Italian v twin really a Ducati because I love the brand I was an original foggy fan and then onto Bayliss in those wonderful years. Any who lets get to the point I raised the funds to be a Multistrada which I test rode a month ago rang to buy it and someone bought from under me last Saturday needless to say I was gutted.
I have been lurking on this forum for the past three months or so gleaning knowledge and narrowing down my preferences for a motley - can I say that if I don't own one?

What I'm hoping is that someone on here is sitting on a bike ready to trade in for a DVT soon. I'm after a red one 1200s Sport with gloss carbon, around a 2010 or 2011 bike with mileage around 10000 ish with history, luggage would be nice but not a deal break same goes for a termi or similar. Anyway I'll end there as I must have bored the pants of you by now, looking forward to any replies not just about a bike, but any advice would be really appreciated . Cheers everyone

  3. Welcome. There doesn`t seem to be a particular shortage of models around at about that spec point, so I`m sure you will find something. Good luck.

  9. And your from the North East I better get mine quick - less competition, you may well have seen the one I was about to buy at Edinburgh Harley Davidson. The rest on there are out of my price range, I think I'm going to buy a touring spec and eventually swap the bits over to carbon as they

  10. Very very close I'm also in Peterlee, are you a Multistrada owner?

  11. Welcome to the best Ducati forum and you are about to buy the best bike..ever.
Nearly 50K miles on the MTS1200...currently wheelchair bound (bad luck, not the bikes fault in any way).
Next year I'll probably by my 3rd.

  16. Thank you all for your very welcoming replies and introductions, I'm happy to say that from today I'm the proud owner of a 2010 red Multistrada 1200s in touring guise with just over 12000 miles. It comes with full compliment of luggage has a DP comfort seat along with the standard, brand new engine bars fitted, it's had a rexxer tune and its big service. I didn't get to ride it much as my mate and I dropped my old Tuono off in his van and put the " Mutley" in as the weather was foul. I've got three months warranty so if the weather, the kids, the wife and work give me a break I'll get a ride out at some point. thanks again everyone Peter
