I have spent the day fitting a load of stuff to my new DVT. A nice days tinkering turned into a major hassle as almost every item required 'fixing' even though they were all official Ducati items. Anyway to change the front mudguard to a Carbon one I ended up having to drop the wheel out which seemed straighforward but I have not done this before. Has anyone got torque settings for locknut and pinch bolts? Also after rebuilding I notice the brake level can be 'just' pulled back back to the bar, although the brakes are working OK (the system remained fully connected during the removal). I bled calipers and master just in case but I can still get the lever back to the bar. Could somesome else check theirs and let me know if it is the same? I have not ridden it before the work so don't know if this is to be expected. Thanks.
Give the lever a few pumps. If you have had the wheel out and the calipers off then the brake pistons may have come out a little.
I fitted Evotech rad & oil cooler guards to my Dvt yesterday, what a bloody nightmare getting some of the bolts back in to the captive nuts !! 2 of the front exhaust manifold nuts were loose too, panel alignment on the right hand side isn't spot on, but best I could get it.
Removed sump guards and pillion pegs for powdercoating (black) Fitted Carbon Hugger - Holes needed opening up and a forceful hand to get it lined up Fitted Carbon Sprocket Guard - easy one after gear change removal Fitted Carbon Mudguard - had to remove wheel to secure and route cables correctly Fitted Carbon Screen - the only easy one Fitted RAM ball to headstock for Sat Nav and wire in - good info on forum to find power connection thanks! Lowered seat and fitted pillion spacer Fitted Carbon Belt Cover - requires removal and refit of breather hose - tight as a ducks **** Fitted Evotech Radiator Guard Fitted Screen Protector - used iPad protector (made a template attached here if useful to anyone) Fitted Pazzo levers Fitted heatshield protection to numberplate (termi was already melting it) ...all ready to go, if only it wasn't p*ssing it down :-(
Yes, could try this but just concerned I hadn't altered anything...hopefully someone cna check theirs and advise if it is the same.
Did you make sure to bleed nipple by the master cylinder? Otherwise wrap a bungie cord round the lever, pull it back to the bar and leave it overnight.
Got the info after downloading the workshop manual. So for future reference: Caliper Bolts are 45Nm +- 10% Spindle Nut is 63Nm +- 5% Pinch Bolts are 10Nm +- 5% 1-2-1 sequence
That was the plan Phunky. Was waiting for PP to come out and then was pretty dissapointed so went for a S and load up with goodies. After a custom paintjob reckon I will end up with a better bike for around the same cost.
Do you think the powder coating on the sump guard will stand up to stone chips ? I ordered a red Evotech spindle bobbin for mine
