  2. Just read that line back to me............

    AL.

  3. Trust me ....,

  4. I think that's a bit of an over statement. The people in Leeds think the same as everywhere else. It's your "friend" thats misguided.

  5. 3 people from Yorkshire today have said to me they don't believe it.... It's all about money grabbing.
    Surprised me no end!

  6. Given there are 5.3m people in Yorkshire I think 3 is a minority

  7. Yup, and I thought those Yorkshire boys where dead sencible lads :(!
Jimmy Saville was plain creepy.. Never trust a man in gold lam'e track suits retch ..

  8. That's also what I recalled he visited that care home in Jersey a few times that there was horrific crimes at. I think a incident there that was linked to him and reported to the police .

  9. Savile was a very powerful and well connected force in media and broadcasting once upon a time and was hugely popular...and very private. he used to crop everywhere from downing street to the palace to summer fetes.
Abused children and adults find it nigh on impossible to explain their stories..the fear of coming out and talking about their experiences or the backlash and consequences of accusing such a popular figure and being though of as a liar in this context must be so dreadful for victims i can certainly understand why so many abused children try to bury the truth...this happens in domestic violence and rape cases all the time...sure, there are possibly some malicious allegations flying around, but i think it has to be said that most allegations of this are not born out of greed or spite.

i think that the press were very kind to Savile on the whole, who was portrayed as some sort of eccentric hero. typically the press love to point the finger..in cases of child abduction, the media cannot wait to name alledged abusers. Today the news reporters named a potential suspect in the case of poor little April Jones with very little evidence as of yet. I think it prudent to wait until there is more evidence before naming a potential suspect. im not saying the suspect is innocent but we should wait to hear some more facts. the Police are under enormous public pressure to catch someone quickly. and misjudgments have been time and again and suspects whi later been found guilty of nothing more innocuous than living alone or around the corner..we are all aware of recent high profile cases im sure.

In my view, i think Savile did a lot of his charity work, understated gold track suit and all as a means of raising his celebrity circle and covering any wrong doings. Just yesterday on the Wright Stuff, Matthew Wright mentioned that once when he phone Savile that the first words out of his mouth was "i though she was 16" even before the conversation started.

He was a very strange, cold person, and its was always a wonder to me why a person with such dead eyes and spikey persona was seemingly so popular..very strange.
