  1. It does look brilliant,much better looking than original diavel,i'm on my 3rd harley(all differant styles "Dyna" Night rod sp" and "Fat boy") and i find the feet forward really comfortable, i guess it depends on your size (i'm 6ft) and what bars you have on them.
     
  2. I'm 6ft too and on my 5th Harley over 22yrs. Maybe it's just wear and tear on my back after 42yrs of riding, as many in the gym and a decade of martial arts! I prefer the Monster for wizzing up the Cat & Fiddle but it's great to have a choice of bikes\styles.

  3. Just seen it on YouTube and I gotta say it looks awesome. I've always thought Harley's and choppers were totally not my thing at all as I like supermotos and sports bikes. This is just so nice to look at it makes me want one oh no.

  4. Sat on it today and fell in love! Think I'll keep the pani for track and Sunday hack with my mates and keep my misses happy on hot sunny days with the diavel X! And dam those pipes look good!!

  5. I was at the show on Saturday and the XDiavel was first on my list to look at\sit on. Fantastic bike and pretty comfortable. Love both, so it's a tough choice. I personally think the original pipes look better than the performance option.
     
  6. Has anyone had a good look at the Xdiavel and compared it with the XDiavel S? £2700 difference in price and only difference seems to be wheels and cosmetics. I'm having trouble finding pictures of the non-S Xdiavel though.

  8. Thanks for that. Looks like the only real difference is some bullshit electronics and the crappy paint job on the non-S! :)
     
  9. Same differences as the dark and carbon; wheels and cosmetics. Not clear if the 'launch control' comes on both XDiavel's. Don't know what it actually does on a manual gearbox vehicle...
     
  10. Yeah, launch control on both. I'm guessing it moderates the power to prevent detected wheel spin or wheelie. What's price diff between Dark and Carbon?
     
  11. I think it's about the same £3,400 difference as between the standard and S. The standard one is probably the best option; unless money is no issue at all...

  14. My dealers ordered one for me. No pressure though, if I like it I'm front of the queue, if not someone else will buy it :)

  16. I'm a little nonplussed by the xdiavel. It looks meaner, its obviously there to woo the HD crowd, it's a looker. But I can't help but feel the forward controls will be crap ...
    I have riding an HD from LA to Las Vegas - on american roads, the foot forward cruising style works, because there are very few bends in the road.
    it will be interesting to see the backward mounting options that will no-doubt be in the accessory catalogue
     
  17. It's not THAT bad actually. I owned two V-Rods as well as a Mutley, CBR900RR, Triumph Rocket and a few other bikes. I used to be able to hustle that V-Rod around corners pretty well - albeit with 45 degree chamfered pegs and bits of exhaust! You get used to feet-forward after a while and can corner pretty aggressively with it. I think your experience may be more defined by the Barge-ness of the Harley you rode. Some of the bigger ones are properly crap. The only proper downside with feet forward is that you can't stand on the pegs easily to soak up big bumps meaning the shock goes straight up your back. Ouch.
     
  18. Having ridden a Harley Road-King for 14yrs (a proper barge), I agree that they can be ridden reasonably quickly with the restricting factor being the weght, frame, suspension, brakes and ground clearance...
    The problem I find is that feet forward puts a lot of weight on your backside\lower back unlike say, a Monster, that distributes it much more evenly over legs, arms and backside and keeps your back straighter.
    Worth a long test ride if you're thinking of buying an XDiavel. Moving the footpegs to a more standard position will be an expensive job just as it is with Harley's as it will also require new brake and gearshift hardware.
     
  19. The std Diavel, esp with the original seat, puts a lot of strain on your back - hence my comments about feet forward on the xdiavel ...

    And 152 BHPs through a belt .... the belt worked on the Buell but that was 80 bhp at the most ...
     
  20. I'm considering the standard Diavel as my next bike and found the riding position ok on a test ride. I wouldn't worry about the belt drive; my Harley only puts out 90bhp at the rear wheel but it's been on 40,000 miles/14yrs. It's a stone in the belt that causes failure rather than power or wear. I'd rather have a chain and some Werth Dry Lube given the choice.
