899 Ohlins Forks, best Place To Buy.

  1. Have been saving hard for a set of Ohlins r&t front forks for the 899,having searched the internet most places that stock Ohlins don't list a price and the ones that do only list full retail price, have sent a few emails off and they all come back with full rrp,WRS who advertise on here sell them at a good price but have not even bothered returning emails,so any one know where i can source some forks within the eu at a reasonable cost,as always a little discount is nice.

  2. I realise you say within the EU but isn't the U.S. The cheapest in the long run? It looked that way for my 848 a few years back. Sure it was Kyle racing or something.

If not why not just my RRP in Europe somewhere. As surely the exchange rate would make them cheap?

  3. Are they the FGRT200 ones? BikeHPS want £2200 for them! Have u tried a dealer, someone like JHS who if u were getting springs etc and it set up for your weight might do a deal on the forks?

  5. Have used Dan Kyle a lot in the past, lets just say he was good at exporting to the uk,sadly this is no longer the case. Most of the Ohlins suppliers will spring to your weight foc,in real money terms uk suppliers 2.2k,eu suppliers 1.9k,problem is getting the suppliers to return emails, they do the forks in black and gold,a lot of retailers only list black and me being a traditionalist want gold, with such a expensive purchase i want to know availability so aways email first, best i can find so far,Ohlins FGRT200 Forcella Regolabile R&T con Cartuccie 43 Nix per Ducati 899 Panigale 2014 14

  6. I love my k tech forks they were cheaper as well, try Tom or Colin at Moorespeed racing for either

  7. Cheers,i will give them a try,k tech gear is top stuff but i want the complete forks, bit of a tart me,my plan is to replace every bit on the bike so i have enough bits to build another one as a dedicated track bike :)

  8. Simmytt its safe to say you have/are building yourself a top spec 899. cant be another like it!

So is that an 1199 tank and subframe then? Why did you go oz rather than bst wheels?

  14. Omnia racing were fine answering emails I sent about some discs I wanted.

  15. Yes 1199 tricolor tank as wanted the white lettering and 1199 subframe,oz over bst just because i wanted gold rims no other factor,was/am trying to keep it sort of factory looking and i think over the years Ducati's with gold rims look good,no need to tell you how heavy the standard rear wheel is lol, nearly as heavy as the rear subframe !.

  16. Was the tank/ subframe fairly straightforward? Been looking at the full six rear subframe and carbon tank, not sure what to do

  17. Yes it is a easy swap, nothing major to worry about, the most awkward part is gaining good access to the lower subframe bolt on the shifter side and look out for pinching the breather pipes when replacing the tank,i am sure with a little bit of thought the 899 tank can be made to fit the subframe, the tanks are identical its just the actual mounting points that differ, the 1199 subframe is very light compared to 899,just the wheels and subframe are by far the biggest weight saving on the bike.Have a look here, Ducati Omaha - Ducati OEM Parts Ordering System - Parts Fiche - Ducati Parts ,should show you all the diffrences.

  18. Update on this,Ohlins don't make gold r&t forks for the 899,they only do them in black,i am a bit of a traditionalist and wanted gold,so i had to get a set of Ohlins 1199 forks for the 1199 base model, but these don't quite fit as the 1199 base runs a bigger top yoke and clipons,so managed to purchase 1199 clips, black cnc top yoke and the forks off a fellow forum member.Cheers imbloodyskintagain all the items are mint condition,

  19. In the end you'll of wished you got a 1199 and just swapped the engines over to a 899. Only joking , but you'll end up with nearly everything 1199 spec soon

  20. I am on the look out for a cat c/d pani as i have enough bits in the loft to make a new one.
