  1. Hello Everyone,

I'm from Brunei Darussalam. I'm fairly new to the bike scene and have had a keen interest in bikes since i was 17 yrs old but have always been discouraged in owning one up till now. I've kinda stumped everyone at home with my new purchase, a Ducati Monster 796 ABS that is due to arrive in 13 days.

I've had my bike license since 2004 but have not ridden till last weekend on a mates bike. Look forward to making new friends and also learning stuff from everyone.

  2. Brilliant :)
Hello and welcome to the wonderful bit sometimes quirky Ducati world
    Enjoy

  3. Hello :upyeah: Monsters are cool

  4. Hello and welcome to the forum. Loads of useful advice available here from some very knowledgable folk.

  5. The road past Sittang camp towards the beach is a bit bumpy. Welcome.

  6. Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been torn between owning a bike forever and am glad i picked a 796 Monster. Only concern i am having now is the seat / ride height adjustment for the vertically challenged person that i am. LOL!

Sweet... appreciate the welcome. I'm going to take you up on the offer of advice / recommendations with regards to helmet vendors that i can contact with regards to overseas shipping.

Any advise on lowering the bike to suite my height of 1.56m would be much appreciated and I apologize if this has been covered previously.

Fantastic mate... sounds to me like you were ex-british garrison or are currently still residing here. I've just moved back to Brunei having being back home in Australia for 24years. Its kinda nice to be in Brunei but sadly i won't deny that I'm still adjusting to the culture shock. haha!

On another note would you be able to point me in the direction of any shops / online shops in the UK that may be able to ship a helmet across? The thought of flying to Singapore to pick one up is not one i fancy presently.

Lastly, as pointed out above i'm like ridiculously challenged vertically at 1.56m @ 5"5... would you happen to know of recommendations with regards to max height adjustments i can consider that will not take too much of the handling quality of the bike?

  7. Try Welcome to Helmet City Ltd I bought one online on Sunday evening and it was delivered Tuesday morning - excellent service indeed. I'm sure they'd be able to ship using someone like UPS/DHL.

As far as lowering the set height goes I had my suspension sorted by a specialist and that took the seat down about 2"/50mm. I can now get my feet comfortably on the floor. :upyeah:

  10. I did a jungle warfare cse there in 89 then a LRRC in 92 (Ithink, my date memory is crap). If you have any problems getting a lid sent out get it delivered to me and I could forward it to you.

P.s. my apricot and banana memory is fine, it's just dates........

  12. Welcome to the forum buddy, I'm sure your gonna love the new bike. Enjoy

  13. Hi, are you in Bandar or at the other end of Brunei? I usually work 28/28 in KB and have just finished a hitch. Harry from Ducati Glasgow shipped a helmet to Brunei recently for a friend, but he had to pay import duty when it arrived.

  14. g'day mike, I'm based in Bandar mate. yea I don't quite fancy paying all these unnecessary taxes given our money barely goes back to our roads.

I've just managed to get a couple if Aria and shoei helmets from Proitalia at very reasonable prices. do you ride in Brunei? if you do it be great to catch up when I'm not diving or playing rugby.

  15. No, my bikes are all in KL where I spend my time off. i am half thinking of bringing one over though, since they added GPS tracking to the company cars here.

Any plans for the MotoGP in Malaysia?
