  1. It did that . There was always a puddle under it . It crashed quite well to which was just as well giving how much used to get on the rear tyre .

  2. Hahaha - I had a Royal Enfield 250cc continental GT about 37 years ago - cafe racer with v v loud reverse cone Megaphone and lowest clipons ever! It had a crankcase breather (old bit of garden hose!) that deposited huge amounts of oil on rear tyre.It was a pig to start and all my mates had flash jap brand new bikes but I thought I was John Surtees on it!Dream on eh???

  3. What I'd do:
Get the 2 piece leathers you want and forget about the track.
Get a one-piece from eBay as well. Ebay leathers are great because they seem to get so little use before they are sold.
One-pieces are miles better for the track. They are much stretchier and more comfortable for hanging off and jumping about on the bike. A 2-piece can seriously cramp your style.

  4. I just txt an old mate to see if he could remember what happened to my old Enfield? It's all come flooding back!!! I did a levels swap with an old boy for a 1968 Triumph Vitesse 2.0 convertible that was lovely!A mate and I took 2 birds we were trying v hard to pull out for a drink to a country pub nr winter hill in Marlow and it was about 4 days before Christmas with about 8" of snow on the ground. We all got a bit pissed (as you did in those days!) and I was showing off sliding about and inevitably lost control and went straight through the fence of a big house and ended up 4ft in the air on top of a rhododendron bush! The woman came out and it was Wendy Craig the actress who was lovely about the whole thing and made us hot chocolate!

  5. Ordered the jacket last night £550 rrp. Got it shipped for £298. Chuffed. Just got to get the trousers now.

  6. The best for your safety is a one piece suit. Pay your money for the best suit you can afford

  7. True, unless it's a crap suit in which case a good 2 piece will always be better

  8. Why would you wear a Crap suit on track unless your crazy.
I have probably crashed 30 times on track but always in good quality suits

  9. Because people are idiots... Seriously... I worked in a bike shop and some people just don't care. Not the majority luckily, also some are miss-informed which isn't great. Brands like Dainese have been around for years because they are good buy the bottom range stuff isn't always good value, some just buy the latest thing being turned out at a biker discount centre where the suits have been stored damp for years and have rotten stitching etc.

I'm going to buy 2pc, because I do so much road riding, and I've never in my experience heard of a single person brake apart the zip on a 2pc unless they had also trashed the whole suit also!

For track only, 1pc fits better for sure, much less 'waist' and less bunching of material allowing u to move around the tank.

Buy right, by once... No such thing as a free lunch, and all that!

  10. Good luck Phil

  12. Ooooo very nice :)

  13. Very nice,I've been looking on eBay for one of them but not much in used 54, Dainese do a couple similar to that style,

  14. I picked it up brand new, delivered for £298. Not sure what your price range is but I found that very cheap (£550 RRP). All the way from the farterland.

  15. Good price that and just what I'm after, seen a few Dainese Pelle ones local to me around £300/350 and about £40 for a back protector.

I had a 10% voucher code too which made delivery effectively free.

  17. How fussy are they about 'stretch panels'. Got given a stern warning a few years back about the interior of the pockets not being leather.

This jacket has stretch panels that aren't leather.

Just to add... This jacket has slots for back protector, front (chest) protector and the stretch panels are "ultra-strong S1 fabric". Jacket meets CE Cat 2 protection standards.

  18. You don't want to worry about that. All leathers these days have loads of stretch panels, fortunately. Makes them a lot more comfortable and easy to leap around bike.

  19. I found the same with Dianese stuff. The jackets are always stupidly short, and the trousers have to go up around your nipples, like Simon Cowell :)
I don't ever wear just the jacket, but there's plenty of times where you want to stop off in a cafe or pub in the summer, where you just get about in the trousers.
After trying on loads of Dainese stuff, I ended up getting an Alpinestars Motegi 2 Piece. It has a zip that goes all the way around, and is a decent fit for me, but I have pretty normal proportions (5.11 / 79kgs)
Must say that I prefer the looks of the Dianese stuff though

  20. Thread revival... Part 2 of my 2 piece have arrived. [IMG]
Zip goes to just round the front portion of the sides. Hoping that will be ok.

On a side note, what's the bast sandpaper to get your knee sliders looking like you got your knee down [emoji23][emoji23]
