Absolutely gutless below 8k! My mate swapped his rsv4 for one and regrets it My 899 out drags it on 4th 5th and 6th gear roll on's unless you have a really really long road All in all on road it's a complete disappointment but it gives us something to rip out of him at breakfast
had the panni 1199 last year just got a chance to get one but only watching the u tube reviews cant tell, and no chance of demo on one,
Give you a brief insight he's alway bought a new rsv4 every year for road and track use, they always quoted 200bhp at crank so each year he changed to the latest model hoping it would be (4 he had always dyno'd 155-165 at wheel) Anyway on big track like portimao le men's etc it pissed him off (he's a quick rider) so his year he bought a r1m (yes low and behold the rsv4 rf makes 180-190 at rear wheel ha ha) Ever since he pick the r1m up he's hated it (no test rides available) It's good on track but really hard work on the road He's now trying to decide between the zx10r and a 1299 and being offered jack on his trade in
R1 you've got to roll to a stop so as to change rider modes , can't change on the fly as you do with Pani .
yeh not bothering mate you will have to put up looking at the gsxr back end for another season ,:tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
To honest I like the look of the R1 , but after reading and noting reviews and comments about it I wouldn't be hurrying to ride one
Thats funny, a friend of mine went from a 1199 Tricolor to a R1M he said the same pile of **it under 8k he stuck a full Austin racing System on it only made 165 at the back wheel! hence selling it after 9 months, he is now looking at a Hyper then fitting an 1198 engine just a project he says
I've tried getting a test ride and Yamaha dont seem interested in letting you try one...so feck them!
Baron von grumbles done a review on youtube. He reckons its the most intimidating bike he has ridden on the road. The R1M is basically a track bike with lights and does not apologise for it. Personally, I like the look of it and have watched a few online reviews and have not heard a lot wrong with it. Most 2015 superbike reviews on youtube are putting the BMW S1000RR at the top but it just seems ugly and soulless to me. I like the RSV4 and would love to try one but at 6ft 4" I think I would soon regret it.
As above, it's fundamentally a race bike on the road. Which in some respects will get certain people moist and parting with their money. For me it's a no, as I ride mainly on the roads. If I was looking for something that was silly, silly fast! I'd get an S1000RR. Again it's too much as a road bike IMO. But it's pretty easy to get on with.
thanks for that, ive had the s1000rr 2015 start of the season but got wrote off a few months back, got the gsxr1000 to see the season off , really loved the look of the R1M but something telling me not to, so having hard think, cheers jimmy.
