Hi all just after any advice what the best clutch cover is for my 749 for trackdays. Want something that has good protection if the worse does happen and also allows it to cool also. Many thanks
Last time I looked this was still available new from Ducati. It's actually 748RS but it might fit ? Andy
In the name of product evaluation, I high sided out of Clearways with one of those.... It ended up as a mangled mess of metal with clutch springs embedded in it. Looks: 10/10 Cooling: 10/10 Crash worthiness: 1/10
SpeedyMoto - Dry Clutch Covers The five-spoke version is bullet proof. I've been down the road on it and it's still on the bike, years later. Lovely but solid too
I imported the Speedymoto stuff for a few years. I really don't think you can fit stronger stuff. I've had several reports back from customers following some big get offs and the clutch has survived. Think you'll need to order direct from moto wheels in the US now as I'm not aware there's a European source anymore.
I also looking for the same and I've been thinking about on one OEM clutch cover, and drill some holes and then powder coat with black color!
This was an MC Motorsports one after an altercation with a daft bint in a Mondeo. did pretty well. I'd go for a standard (cheap) one on track with additional 'oles.
Do really like the woodcraft one but cant justify 150+ for a track bike. Would you recommend spacing a standard oe cover with spaces to aid cooling aswell as drilling holes in it or is this not needed? Thanks
Gazza, I now use a standard cover spaced out with washers to aid cooling. Never had any problems with overheating clutch (749R). Not crash tested yet on RHS...LHS been on the deck.
I've been down the road on a standard clutch cover - it grated like a cheese slice and my clutch got ruined. I don't rate the OEM cover at all. Hmm - maybe I've been down the road too often?
Crashing and destroying the clutch is my worst fear, i see r&g do a solid one which is meant to be good protection has anyone had any experience with one?
