2015 R1 Recall

  1. 16 hours per bike.

The dealers will be loving this, especially this time of year.

  2. Yep, that's a massive sh*t sandwich for dealers, although when the workshop is quiet over winter they are still getting paid by Yamaha for the labour rate. Hopefully no one has had a gearbox fail!

  3. it'll be worth a fair chunk of money to them, even at warranty rates

  4. At least they're doing the honourable thing instead of burying their heads in the sand and hoping not too may owners complain.

Ducati could do well taking a leaf out of Yamaha's customer service book!

  5. Absolutely, the numbers in reality aren't commuter bike high so perhaps it will just fill the workshop nicely

  6. I got the understanding warranty work does not earn the dealer a huge crust ! I had to have a replacement engine under warranty and the dealer got paid for a fixed time at a certain rate.

  7. Depends what rate they get. Often it's a fraction of what would usually be charged out to retail.

But money in, is money in.

However at this time of year, they'll have not much else on I'd imagine anyway..

Even 16 hours @ £55 per hour is better than nothing.

  8. Is there a gearbox problem on Ducati. which model?

  9. The Cranks give up first as a fail safe :)

  10. The 1098R, 1198 etc, but I was referring to all sorts of faults that could/should be subject to recall.
