yes well actually dave the engine start making a knocking sound ,when they looked at it the cam lobes were tight and start shaving off could have been a fix so it never actually blew its self to bits, but I said no way your stripping a brand new bike to the bone, and they agreed, hense new one,
I know if you go in your local dealers and ask what the rear wheel torque setting is a bet most cant tell you , let alone strip a bike to the bone, I know of oil filters falling out after a 600mile service, I Know of oil been forgotten to be put in during a service, not all like that I know, but if it was my bike would not be happening,
more s1000rr sold than r1 a bet you, how many r1 do you see about,? a few on the track, which ive also herd have probs with the slide control, as well.
yes but all there guns will have the correct torque settings in them as they come along the line, :tonguewink:
The Panigale designer in Performance Bikes this month says he likes the R1 design but particularly the build quality - perhaps they will take note back at base about here shite fasteners :Wideyed:
talking to a respected top mechanic near us , said no mechanics now just parts fitters, take a part off and replace with the same, not the knowledge there used to be in how that part actually works,

No, been in my job 32 years unfortunately - automotive design & engineering on new vehicle developments and even I know not a lot :Smuggrin:
