959 44 Teeth Review Of 959 Panigale

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Rosso, Dec 8, 2015.

  1. It read like a crap wannabee Clarkson had penned it.
    Poor show.

  2. Like others here, how the bike looks is very important to me. I often go out to the garage on a wet evening, just to look at my bike. I thought losing the single sided swing arm from the 848 evo to the 899 was a mistake but the exhaust cans on the 959 is a major mistake. It is like dating a supermodel with size 10 feet. The top half looks amazing and the bottom half is just wrong. This bike looks like a Panigale at the front and a monster at the rear.

  3. Maybe take the time to listen to BVG's vlogs first.... and then do a bit of research before bashing them too.... think you might have this wrong mate..... just sayin'

  4. Don't get me wrong, i do enjoy them still but i do think you have to watch them with a view to the fact they are using products that are basically free.

IIRC (and please tell me if i am wrong) both BVGs GS and Superduke are not bikes he bought himself but have been provided (probably free of charge) by either the manufacturer or a dealer.

  5. That supermodel may give you the ride of your life but no matter what BVG's vlogs say, her feet will still be size 10 in the morning :disrelieved:

  6. I'm sorry but I do not agree with you. I'm a subscriber of the baron and it's been while since has done viewing worthy content...

  7. I think he won the Superduke & was originally given the GS for the Euro tour but subsequently purchased the same bike from BMW for a substantial discount. To be fair, he does provide constructive criticism of some of the products he is given.

  8. Yeah, he did win the SuperDuke, the GS from what I understand was purchased through Barnstormers at a discount.

  9. I found it a bit annoying for want of a better word how they were justifying the bike against 'super mids/600's', when it's actually closer to 1000cc. And i would say the first topic of conversation with fellow bikers is what sort of bikes they like/have, which ultimately all stems from how said bike looks. The exhausts just don't suit a sports bike. As said above, they look like they come from a Monster.

  10. Fagan is a racer though, so will be likely more bothered about how it performs as a 'tool'.

I get the whole 'super mid' thing. It's hard to explain but I do get it.

S1k's aren't lookers, but still sold well. I do think that the pipes 'may' impact the sales though.

  11. The 44T chaps obviously didn't place the 959 in the super-mid bracket though, that's Ducati themselves. In isolation you'd be hard pushed to justify it as a super-mid but alongside the 1299 it's not the all-out bonkers superbike either, so how do you market it? A few years ago we had the 999 which was Ducati's flagship superbike and now the 959 with not many CC's less is their super-mid. I just think this is progress, or certainly Ducati's progress anyway. Along with all the electronic aids to make bikes 'easier' to ride hard, plus the way the other 'super-mid/600' bikes have also moved forwards in terms of technology, that's just where the 959 sits!

  12. After seeing the bike in flesh, in my eyes it looks a lot better with the Akra exhaust option over the standard
However, with the Akra at £1,700 and the bike at now over £13, that makes it a circa £15k purchase, which is a lot of quids for it
I've spoken to a few dealers this last week (in sourcing an 899), and they've said the initial orders are pretty underwhelming, so I expect there could be some good deals to be had in the new year
Conversely, sales of any remaining new 899 stock seems to have jumped, and used bikes seem to be moving faster than previous outdated models (according to salesmen, but that might've just been sales patter)

  13. Did he not win the Superduke through his youtube fans voting for him?

I take my hat off to him in what he has done as most motorcycle vloggers in the UK have taken their style from him ( some have just copied completely) and i'm not knocking it but you do have to bear in mind that maybe the content and reviews are based in some way on the fact they are getting stuff for free to test, be it bikes or kit.

  14. Didn't he go on a Euro Trip with Jo benz ? That's got to be worth something, and she's pretty decent :)

  15. Most superbikes have had their exhaust replaced at some point- just look at 1*98s for sale. And those looked OK to start with. The smart move may be to wait for second handers with the, now pretty much inevitable, termi/akro upgrade.
