As a kid when I should have been doing my school homework, sitting watching TOTP from when it started in the 60s, I always turned the TV off when JS was the compere. Even then, I felt he was a repulsive creep and I think that was well before his 'charity' work had started and Jim'L'Fixit hadn't even been thought of.
