Whether he'll go well or not, it doesnt make good reading for WSB fans does it, what with the new one race Saturday/Sunday news announced today. Genuinely fear for that series as it was a complete snooze fest last year so i dread to think what it'll be like in 2016 with fewer crowds (and by the look of it teams and riders). Oh how the mighty has fallen
Presumably extra costs to buy tickets for both days, and extra camping or hotel costs. Also Saturday workers will have to take a day off now. Big mistake!
WSB started going downhill the day it bombed Brands from its Calendar. Should be Brands and Donny in the UK, get rid of shite like Thailand and Quatar from the calendar and just to spice things up a bit replace them with a couple of road races. There’s your excitement and USP back straight away. (yes i know it will NEVER happen but a man can dream)
Over the last few years my interest in BSB has faded to... erm pretty much zero PBM with Ducati factory backing back in the mix might spike my interest.
Brands had the option from Dorna to run WSB but at a high cost. As Dr Palmer didn't want to put the extra cost onto the fans, he chose not to continue running WSB at brands.
does that mean youre a glory hunter and you only watch it when ducati's winning or is it for another reason entirely? my interest in bsb's faded to zero and beyond because there's little to no chance to work your way into wsb and subsequently moto gp like there used to be a la the bayliss hodgsons, edwards, haga, spies's of the world its all a bit smalltime
It's a terrible move for WSBK which I have already struggled to watch this year tbh, regarding Haslam, well... He had the championship winning bike and managed 2 wins? Infact... Look at Haslam's win rate versus races entered compared to someone like Jonny rea who has been on an average bike for years
I was working with FG Sport the last year they ran worlds at brands, I know why it went, but still a shame. I don't know how he'll go on the Kwak, he's been riding with electrical gizmos for some time now, so I guess it depends how he can adapt. I'd imagine he'll go well at Donington though !
Just found it becoming more of a yawn fest. It not about glory hunting, but it will be nice to see factory Ducati's back in the game. Not about glory hunting as I've not really watched any WSBK this year and Ducati has done really well in that. I get more kicks from TT, NW200, Uster GP etc etc. Plus the riders do seem to have more personality lol
Brands supers is/was the best superbike venue i have watched at and would have paid more to see it continue. The inserted comment above is a generous version (spin) of Mr Palmers stewardship. I don't remember a time when he asked the race going public this question ahead of the announcement it was dropped.
Watching Tommy Hill/John Hopkins & Shakey/Lowes battling down to the final round at Brands was sporting perfection. Haven't seen it since and have enjoyed MotoGP more this season than I have either BSB or WSBK. Never thought I'd say that a few years ago.
Exactly, at the end of the day all people want to see are close battles and some proper rivalry. That’s why the moto 2 and moto 3 races are often immeasurably more entertaining than the top class.
