Are they what you expected and did the replies answer to your satisfaction? http://ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/as...or-tim-maccabee-answers-your-questions.39018/
I'll be honest and say that I thought it was a bit corporate and uninspiring. But then that's hardly surprising. I wouldn't expect Tim to go off-piste in his position, and I wouldn't expect him to give away Ducati's plans either, so the chances of really learning anything new were quite slim.
I have to agree with this Glid Very carefully worded and not really answered anything Typical reply never expected much else
He couldn't be expected to admit to any shortcomings or reveal any future model plans, obviously. But I thought he could have been more forthcoming about matters such as warranties and spare parts supply.
To take two specific points Back Brakes The braking characteristics of a bike forms part of the rideability equation of balance versus the engine braking characteristics of a v twin. As electronics play a more important part, including ABS and traction control, so the power and balance of braking controls alters over time. Indeed, but why don't they work ? Fuel gauge accuracy on earlier Multistrada models The complexity of tank design has affected this in the past but product development has seen this feature improve over time. There is still along way to go, the linearity on my "new" fuel gauge is rubbish. I think @gliddofglood hit the nail on the head, it was corporate and uninspiring, but did we really expect anything else ? @Tim Maccabee , sorry but no banana. However I hope that behind the scenes notice has been taken and some of the genuine causes of concern are being taken seriously and addressed.
I think looking back it might be regarded as a lost opportunity - there is corporate policy but I'd also expect a country MD of a major brand to be comfortable expressing some opinions on the 'touchier 'topics . If there are important questions/observations that comprise a reasonable focus of the UK customers ... Is it right 'Italy' should dictate the extent if the/any/no response?
The question should never have been asked as it was always going to be censored and only the right question was wanted The MD of Ducati UK is far removed from his customers Managers have the ability to stand up for what's right but rarely do in my experience
Any MD worth his/her salt will never admit to any shortcoming's within their respective company, so the answers given didn't really satisfy. I'm always dubious of this 'we want to hear your concerns as we care' I have my area manager in every 3 months to voice our concerns to directly, according to him, every thing is rosy, but nice he popped in to see us.
I was referring to matters which I raised in fairly specific detail in posts you obviously have not read and which Mr M chose not to respond to.
It was a good to read that they are at least reading up & checking in on forums. In this day & age a rumour can spiral out of control in positive & negative fashion.
