  4. thought this subject would gain more interest.
actually i am about to contradict myself. internet access is the only way of finding the truth, just as relevant in the uk as it is in china. obviously there is a subject close to my hart and seeing as i can only fight one battle at a time. the snp it's threat the uk status quo and the.MSM and quite scandalously the BBC. but it could easily be converted to any subject of national interest. which has only served to increase distrust in the ruling class.
take national security, i dont believe we should get all the information or answers in the interest of public security but i do want accurate and honest answers even with a bit of spin if necessary.
back to the snp and the BBC (an institution that should of remained impartial i am sure most would agree) a recent report from glasgow uni i think it was showed that there was a two to one ratio of reporting bias against indi by the BBC the constant miss truths from the likes of niel/robertson/marr. why? all raised with the bbc yet remain unanswered.

do you think it will be any different come the EU debate? i just haven't decided which side they are gonna take yet. most of you wouldn't of seen a fraction of it especially from BBC Scotland. camoron wanted to have the indi reff much much sooner in this term of governance to stop the debate not to give people the chance to debate. i think it was about 25-30% support at the beginning to 45% at the end with 13% not giving a you know what. re the EU reff it will be a last minuet announcement i will put money on it. since the reff leading up to the GE and even more so now the snp bad stories and reporting from all the MSM including the BBC has reached fever pitch, constant bull even down to the forth road bridge fiasco when the msm are presented with what appears to be an accurate time line of events they still report the opposite why.?
i guess the similarity between places like china and the uk you get rewarded for repeating the lie.
so a bit of advise. if you see a quote go looking for the full interview if you see a video clip go looking for the full interview. dont be a sheep. pish gallop dont forget it. :smileys:

  5. The important thing about a free internet is that all views can be represented and discussed. Once you have state control, that goes out of the window. Just imagine this forum in China. It would have been closed down ages ago - at least the Lounge section.

  6. Ain't that the truth. Unfortunately people do forget it when naked propaganda, confirmation bias and subliminal persuasion through repetition are deployed in support of their own view.
Authoritarianism and moral imperialism are only bad when its the other guy doing it..

  7. @finm ....how come most of your posts are either one, two or three words long and look like they were written by a glue sniffing 12yr old.
Have you left your computer logged on or has someone got your password?
There has been some serious thought gone into to this bash at Auntie!

  8. History is written by the victors..

  9. not sure if that was a compliment or not. :Shifty::smileys:.
mate, the BBC/msm drive me bonkers. it's been neverendum now for about five years,(trust me most of us just want to move on) the run up to the Scottish elections, then the 3yrs of independence campaigning, then the G.E now the run up the Scottish elections possibly straight in to EU reff then straight on the council elections. so that will be seven years of full on pish gallop daily assault on the SNP and it's supporters by unionist supporting media (all) there isn't really any full blown out and out snp supporting publication. but you just cant sit back let them spout their bull unchecked.
a quick check on the online editions another 8 freesh story's today on how pish how poor how dumb, how corrupt we are. some of which is repeated on the bbc web pages. all debunked by clever sods in the comments section with more time on his or hers hands to go looking for the full report or video with links. i doubt if any party or government has been under such close scrutiny or media attention. stop with lies please. i can handle the truth.

  10. I'm sure I read that Google moved from China to Hong Kong to avoid Chinese government imposed censorship of their search engine and because they were hacked into from China and think it was state sponsored hacking which also targeted a number of big American companies. So censorship can't be enforced without the cooperation of internet companies.

On the referendum and independence - This comes with the IMHO caveat. I really don't think anyone can predict what will happen if Scotland breaks away from the union. It's just too complicated an issue. The best you can do is adopt one person's opinion over another's. But you have to bear in mind that it is, at best, just someone's opinion and, at worst, deliberately misleading. Nobody knows, or can know, anything for a fact so it's always going to be an emotional vote.

  11. jftr. i wasn't trying to bring that subject in. personally i would rather not talk about it on here atoll, but will always be ready to defend if possible where possible.
just my examples of how our own government/opposition and establishments are not holier than thou when it comes to pedaling quite frankly at times blatant lies. no news or lies? gimme no news please.

  12. I have been looking for a switch to turn the internet off for ages..............

....since it and computers were available to me, I have spent (wasted) more time fiddling and farting about with it, just to keep things running........

....and I have forgotten how to write nicely; talk to people; go shopping (it seems to take as long online as it does physically doing it or even longer if you consider you have to wait for the delivery, when you could have picked it up straightaway from the shop).

  13. I think the major reason for the existence of the internet as it is now, like TV, is to try and sell you shit you don't need. The ads on this site are a case in point.
