1199 1199 Tuning

  1. Hi Guys,

I'm after a bit of advice... I've just ordered a set of the carbon Termis for my 1199, these come with a dedicated sprint filter but no up map or tuning (you sort that bit yourself)... so there is my dilemma, I'd like to sort out the crap standard fuelling low down and increase the mid range...

As far as I can see my options are :-

Custom ECU map for around £250 from MotoRapido
Rapid Bike Evo and setup £350+
    Powercommander £300

Has anyone done similar with theirs?? My head is saying go with a custom ECU map as MR run a race team so would know the bike well... but I've read rave reviews about the Rpid Bike setup too...

I have no intention of selling the bike so re-sale value of bits I add is not part of the equation.
    Any help much appreciated..

  2. Rapdbike evo all the way. Comes loaded with basic map to get ya going and then takes a recommended 200miles to autotune a map just for your bike and riding style.
Basically a portable dyno in my opinion.

  3. Are they easy to fit??

  4. Best and recommended place to fit it is to the LH side onto the plastic rad holder panel, others have fitted onto battery after fitting smaller race battery and some have even fitted it right behind the Flapper motor housing.

  5. About as easy / hard as fitting a Power commander I would say.

  6. Are you getting the rapid bike from a UK supplier as the nearest I can find is in Germany.

  7. Funny enough....:kissingclosed::kissingclosed: I have got a Rapidbike evo to sell, missing the usb cable but thats only good if ya want to try messing about with the mapping yourself and not use the auto adaptive / tune setting.

    So,
No bias there at all in my recommendations :tearsofjoy:

  8. Got mine mapped from a place called Hilltop Motorcycles.. goes like a beast now.

  9. Awesome, thanks for the pics and info! definitely food for thought.... I'm gonna speak to MR before I make a firm decision.. but reckon it's between them and a Rapid Bike Evo.. :) how much is yours going for then?

  10. No, the cheapest I've seen so far has been from Italy for about 370.... when I make a firm decision I'll look further into it if I go down that route but not seen anything from the UK on the web...??

  11. Did you get a dyno report etc? did you have much input into it? and the cost?? End of questioning

  12. Hi mate,
    £265 delivered(UK)

  13. Sounds like a fair price, I'm actually in the UK (My Internet proxy at work goes through the states so it keeps putting the stars and stripes on my location!)... Will let you know when I've made a decision... (my cans won't land until new year I wouldn't expect as they are coming from Italy, so I've got a week or 2 to decide, but thanks for al the help!!

  14. Is adding the official Ducati up-map not an option? They come up for sale on their own every now and again. I'm not sure how much they end up going for mind, and if they're a similar price to the others then obviously it's about weighing up which route you think is best.

  15. It's an option but then I've got to wait potentially months for one to come up... I'm not that patient

  16. Has anyone tried/asked BSD at Peterborough about an ECU reprogramme?

  17. not sure about them, but Moto Rapido definitely do one, I'd imagine all dealers can? Although when I asked MR about getting an upmap they said Ducati dealers can't get them...? I presume something to do with the affiliation with Akra now?

  18. ecu flash all the way , not many bother with aftermarket add ons now,
