Don't count on it. The populace is so well-drilled these days that give them a day off work, all they can think to do with it is go shopping. Sigh.
Last but one day at work. And still the demand for stupid information flows into my inbox. Tomorrow we are having bacon sandwiches at work, bacon cooked in the microwave!!!! I may just take an emergency bowl of meusli with me. Just done a present check and I seem to have completed my shopping! feeling quite Christmassy.
I need to plan my monster refurb. I have been toying with getting the Scrambler or the retro Yamaha but keep coming back to the Monster. It is in good originalcondition and I like riding it, so I am thinking about doing a few mods to it, maybe wire wheels, slightly wider bars that type of thing. Nothing that can't be reversed if I decide I definitely want one of the other two.
Believe me if you've got the outlaws plotted up at yours for Christmas trying to get as much of your best booze and food down their necks - you are grateful that someone has open up their business so you have an excuse to go shopping!
I went Christmas shopping today for my 2 kids (25 and 31!) and ended up sticking £100 each in envelopes as they are impossible to buy presents for! Spent £140 on 2 bottles of aftershave for myself (crazy money I know!) then had a couple of pints and liver,bacon,mash,peas n onion gravy (my fave!) and got back to multi-storey 2 mins after a huge African traffic warden had given me a bloody ticket for robbing Windsor borough council of 120 seconds of parking! Shit day apart from lunch and ale and still haven't got girlfriend anything?
Why buy yourself aftershave 4 days before Christmas? You may well have just pissed the girlfriend off! My step daughter bought her dad a PS4 game for Christmas and the dick just went and bought it for himself so I now have to post it back to Amazon. Don't get why anyone would buy themselves something like that at this time of year. Now a 749 I can't see anyone buying me.......
The aftershave wasn't a pressie to myself - it was just replacing the two I use as mine were nearly out and they ain't easy to get!
Yesterday I drove back from my brothers house and went to work late and had an easy day. Today isn't going to be such an easy day as I have to go to Manchester airport in a bit and pick up a prospective client. This evening I'll be taking them back to the airport. With the Christmas season upon us I would like to share a personal experience with everyone about drinking and driving. As you may know, some of us have been known to have brushes with the authorities from time to time on the way home after a "social session" out with friends. Two days ago I was out for an evening with friends and had several beers followed by some rather nice Port. Feeling jolly I still had the sense to know that I may be well over the limit. That's when I did something that I've never done before - I took a taxi home. Sure enough, on the way home there was a police road block with everyone getting tested, but since it was a taxi they waved it past. I arrived home safely without incident. This was a real surprise as I had never driven a taxi before, I don't know where I got it and now that it's in my garage I don't know what to do with it! Any ideas?
Decided to strip my hyperstrada down today. Removed the fuel tank and fitted new spark plugs, mwr air filter power up kit. Oil and filter change. And now leaving it in bits because I'm still waiting for the rapidbike evo to arrive. Hopefully it comes b4 xmas.
Got up. Drove Mrs Biscuit to work. Took dogs for a run. Hosed dogs down. Washed car (F'kin waste of time that was!!). Did Christmas food shop (Fek me !! has someone declared war ?? Tesco was crammed). Visited Dad in hospital (He should be home tomorrow ). Walked dogs again. Hosed down dogs.......again !! Collect Mrs Biscuit from work at 20.30 and off for a beer and pizza.......so much for being "retired" penmouth:
