899 Price Help

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by R1nutty, Jan 1, 2016.

  1. Hi
I have just been offered an 899 panigale for £10300. It's a 15 reg and only done 500 miles.
This seems to me like a great deal but with appreciate anyone's comments on the price. The bike is standard with no extras

  2. Sounds a good price to me.

  3. Looks like a good price to me, but do the usual checks to make sure it's not either been damaged/repaired, someone's track bike, or a demonstrator

  4. Yeah I've done all the checks. Test rode one in the summer and really liked it, the seller is upgrading to a 1299 which it seems a lot of people are doing, hopefully I won't miss the extra power!!

  5. Upgrading ! He hasn't even run it in yet

  6. yeah I know does seem nuts!!!
    But is great for me
I will have to pay for the 1st service.
I just really hope I enjoy the bike for what it is and don't want the bigger one myself. Had plenty of litre superbikes over recent years but just don't think I need that much power. If someone decides to overtake at 165mph plus I am happy to let them go!!!!

  7. It's a good price. And if you just ride on the road then it's the perfect bike.

  9. yeah good point!!!

  10. My 15 plate pre registered bike, zero miles was 11,750 so v good price, first service £150

  11. Exactly that
Until Ducati start giving away the Akra or the underslung exhausts on the 959, they're not going to be selling too quickly, so the 899 values will remain pretty high for a while.
If anything, I've noticed they've been creeping up a bit

  12. Cheers guys, I have brought it.
    Roll on sunny days

  13. get some pics up when you can then :)

  14. Will do!!
Will come standard but already looking at goodies. Would be good to know the best place to buy the termis from??
Will be a little while before I can justify buying them ££££ but will get them before summer for sure!!

  15. Have a listen to a bike with them before you spend what will be a lot of money as there's not much difference in the quality of sound IMHO. The stock system sounds pretty good, but you do get the possibility of the Upmap with the termi system that gives you a bit more power

  16. You're looking at about £1k for the termi system too

  17. Yeah, budget around £800 for a set of termi's used, if they appear!! Burndownthediscos was selling some and struggled to sell them but I think he was just unlucky with timing!!

  19. Thanks for the advice, I do remember them being loud when I test rode a demo in the summer, if doesn't make that difference with the sound might leave the pipes stock, lots of money for a few more ponnies!!!

  20. The biggest difference is that it revs cleaner and faster and feels less strangled. Id say they aren't actually any louder but maybe a little deeper in tone.
