Vtrec Levers Half Price

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by chizel, Jan 1, 2016.

  1. Just bought a set for the 749 £58.00... got them on the 748 and really like em paid over a hundred just over a year ago. BS motoparts site 50% off or 48% through their ebay shop

  2. Can i see a pic? I am not sure about the colours choices against the gold brembo fitting? Do they reduce the hinge flappiness of replacing old levers? I can't work out whether the lever or bar fitting is responsible for this as they get older.

  3. sorry mate, ive not been able to upload pics for weeks now and i cant work it out! but if you go to their web site it (if you havnt already) you can view all colors and there is a function to view the different color adjusters on each lever.
mine are black with silver span adjusters but my m/c's are black not gold. the movement on em is great, after just over a year and 4500 miles they feel like new still (no flappiness)

  4. Were they standard ones flappy before you put the Vtrec ones on?

  5. I do remember thinking " what a difference" when i first changed em but i dont think they weren't to bad to bad tbh honest mate, a lil bit of play. the new ones did take most of that out (there is always a lil ) though so i guess the wear was in the hole in the lever.
thinking about it that would be the most likely as (at least on the 748) the retaining bolt that holds em has a locator on the top and nut at the bottom so unlikely to move with time, think the moving past (lever) would wear first id imagine..

  6. Not wishing to piss on anyone's frosties, but they look the same as the Chinese ebay jobbies.

  7. That is because the Chinese eBay stuff looks ok these days. And r&g get stuff made in China too. As do Ducati and their suppliers.

Conversely, the company is German and claims these levers are made in Germany. So it may all be down to taste here.

  8. Not sure they work for my bike. I wanted silver like standard but the mounts are all black. And my cylinders and brakes are gold. I'd end up with silver, black and gold....tricolore lever sets are not for me. Ends up looking naff.

  9. not seen the Chinese ones in the flesh but i have these and to my uneducated eye they are the nuts! as said have used for over 4000 miles (not a great deal granted) and they are as the day i fitted em. if the Chinese ones are of the same standard i'd buy em but for the lil bit extra coin i feel better buying german... maybe im mad!

  10. drop em an email, they may do silver mounts. when the sent out my last set they sent the wrong mounts (possibly my fault) but i emailed, had a response within a few hours and new mounts foc within a few days. good to deal with

  11. I've seen the chinky ones on all sorts of websites being pedaled for LOADS more, same with the fairings.
If these are made in Deutschland by the good volk then all good then...:upyeah:
Not trying to start the ole 'all Chinese stuff is shit row'! I've all sorts on my bike :)

  12. hope not all Chinese stuff is shit as i have 2 Chinese sisters in law and will hopefully be over there for a visit in the next few months...
maybe i'll bring back some levers and sell em on here! might call em Exacta levers or somethin...:D
