999 Bargain Or Not??

  1. I've just won a 999 frame and head stock tube on eBay for £187. ( with v5) from elite superbikes.
    As I plan to start accumulating parts for a forth coming project.
    What's your consensus ? Bargain? or the right price??

  5. Considering the seller, just make sure it's a Ducati 999 bike frame and not a cabbage coldframe...:upyeah:

  12. I've no idea. I'm not too bothered as it will be will be repainted and the basis of a project build. I was more drawn by the price. I guess the V5 will reveal all when it arrives.

  14. Sorry for the scepticism, i and a few others on here have had dealings with this seller ,its a good price and it may well be what he says it is ,but if it was mine i'd be checking it was straight...if he said the grass was green i'd be outside making sure!:wink:

    Point taken and duly noted.
    I'll double check its straight and Un-damaged.
    I did get an oil cooler from him which was slightly damaged. But after emailing I got a full refund the next day and kept the cooler. So thus far I've done ok by him. Besides his business is only 40 miles from me. So I could alway call in.

  16. Don't worry OP, I've got an 05 and my frame is silver. Having researched it, about the time they changed over they had some sort of backlog of parts and just used whatever they picked up. My fairings are red underneath and its a Dark? Its like some bastard child of anything that was knocking about the factory!

  17. Darks all had Silver Frames, even the later ones - 05 onward had deep black swing arms:
