is it me or does the mv f3 rc put the 899 looks to shame? I nearly bought a f3 800 but heard the usual horror stories about lack of dealer support. I want one. MV Agusta F3 800 Reparto Corse | eBay
one of my mates has the standard F3800 (not that AMG one which i agree is stunning) never sat there and looked at his and thought id rather have that but its all subjective of course
They are certainly very tempting, after owning a F4 312 for about a year I'd argue the lack of dealer network, Forza Italia up at Silverstone were excellent although an hour away. But now my local bike shop has just been given the MV Dealership for Berkshire. Will have to keep my hands in my pockets I'm sure.
Every bike I've owned has given me a tingle when I look at it in the garage. 899 is a bit meh. However it's the best bike to ride hence me owning it still.
I can't believe u think that! ;-) you surely mean relative to some others? Surely u don't mean alongside stuff like gsxr's etc? The f3 for me is like the 848, it's 'traditionally' beautiful. The 899 though is a much more modern design and I think will age brilliantly. Btw I'm also of the opinion the 899 and earliest 1199 are the prettiest, before it grew the horrid wide hand guards and later wide fairing...
It's sad to say but compared to my 848 , 1199 , m1100s and m696 , Daytona 675 . I don't go to look at it in the garage. I've not even took any pics of it since owning it. However it does ride brilliantly.
d8mok, sounds like youve already made up your mind what you want the dealership at silverstone gets fantastic reviews if that helps sway you a bit more
I may go for a little look at bennetts one day. Let's see. Only issue is that the 899 does everything I need as a tool and I feel I need to have more use of it first since it's only 1k miles /6 months old.
fair enough sounds sensible, the only thing ive always thought that i didnt like about the f3 was the triple pipe thing they have going on, it doesnt look any better in the flesh either but again thats just personal preference
This years model is even nicer as it now has black engine cases and the new dash which is a nice improvement. It sounds like it needs a steering damper though so I would budget for one. Also I know someone who has ridden one and they said the fuelling is perfect from 4K upwards but really fluffy down low which puts it in the same camp as the 848 for me, where as the 899 is pretty useable I think. I think u will love a f3 but I dunno, I think it's a nice problem to have 'my 899 is boring looking ' ;-)
I tried a f3 675 last year but wanted a 800. It had terrible fueling but oh so pretty. The main decider for me is that I have Cornerspeed to look after my Ducati who is ace. The mv dealer is a hour away.
