Sat in MRs whilst Joe services the Multistrada. Difficult ride from home with a lot of standing water and periodic downpours but the old D Dry stuff kept me warm and dry. M7RRs behaved well given the state of the roads. If it stops raining I might just wander up to the local buttie van. Andy
Received a notice for excess time in the hospital car park, they want to charge me £100 reduced to £60 if I pay in 14 days. I was 1 MINUTE over according to the timed photos.:rage: Time to start looking for a legal loophole.
To put it mildly. Started looking and have found Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999 which appears to cover this area, looking specifically at Regulation 5 para. 1and 2 but need to go into it in a bit more detail with someone suitably qualified to confirm my hopes. Should be able to find out in a few days all being well.
UTCCR 1999 now replaced by Consumer Rights Act 2015 REG 62(4). As expected it's a minefield of legislation to sift through.
Well the photo shows me exiting 1hr and 1min after entering but as you say can they justify the charge and demonstrate a loss to this value? Also just found that British Parking Association (BPA) guidelines state a reasonable period of grace should be allowed, need to try and find out how long this might be. Oh joy..............
In popular culture, ten minutes grace is allowed. Whether this is based upon fact or not, I don't know. Sounds like a scam to me. Why hospitals just don't employ pickpockets to supplement their trust income is a mystery.
